Anyone stayed at Koenig Hotel. It looks good and price isn't bad. Is it girl friendly?

Any advice appreciated

It's girl friendly and a good value IMHO.

Downside is that it is a long walk from the action and on the border of Boy's town.

I have booked a room at the hotel from saturday the 26 from the reviews I read here in PattayaPages and from the photos from the website it seems like a nice hotel. 10 min. walk to Walking Street................any bars I can stop by on the way :P

Stayed there for 2 weeks in November 2003. Payed the extra 200b for larger corner room. Not a problem with girls and I would highly recommend the place. The gay bars are not an issue. There were no hassles at all from them and can be easily avoided anyway.

Good hotel & a fair price.............Girl friendly and 20B motobike taxi to most of the action!

I stayed there for my last trip, keep meaning to do a trip report but too lazy.

The 800 baht big rooms are phenomenal value for money. Hotel is girl friendly and the owner (Eric?) is a great guy who will make sure everything is fine for you.

A 10 minute walk to Walking Street max, to get there you either walk through an arab section or a gay section. Neither a problem.

BUT it is very very noisy. There is construction going on in the building over the road (above the 7/11) and in the field to the side of the hotel and it is a very noisy area anyway. I would say you MUST get a top floor room pointing away over the field, not in towards the town. One night some twat on a motorbike with no silencer was going round and round the block for hours. Not the hotels fault but annoying nonetheless.

I've stayed there before and the gay area is between Soi Yensabai and Soi VC. Two other hotels are on that Same soi and all three were built about 2 years ago. The White Rose and Marine Yensabai Mansions are both on the same soi. The White Rose cost me 650 daily (I didn't try to negoiate a price) but the room I had the bed was hard. Overall a good hotel for that price if you can find a softer bed or like hard beds. The Marine Yensabai costs 700 a night (5% discount if you stay 2 weeks) and has the best rooms and view of the 3 and is closer, but no pool.

I stayed in one of their 600 baht rooms and it was huge. Friendly German management. 24/7 safe access in lobby. Small pool. Not the best location so I would not recomend it to a first time Pattaya visitor.
