Im Staying at Dynasty Inn at the moment, my room is right next to construction site, noise on the street can be loud at times but in my room you can hardly hear it.

Most of the work is quite high at present maybe 6th or 7th floor, my room is on the 2nd floor which may be why i have no or vey little noise, maybe if your going to stay on soi 13, get a low rise room.

Also i would guess noise at Sandy Springs would be zero to minimal anyway.

Cheeers

took a walk down soi 13 just yesterday, bad news for you I think, there is a construction site right opposite the sandy spring anfd it is in its very early stages, so I would guess by around April time it will be pretty much unbearable.

sorry to have to give you bad news but thats the truth Im afraid

A warning also for all you soi 13 regulars, as from today 24 Jan they have started to demolish the 4 bar complex directly opposite the big condo construction next to the Dynasty, looking at this I would say avoid soi 13 for the next 8 months at least

just dont pay upfront pay a few days at a time or even daily.

The site next to ma maison as been empty for some time,

they worked on the foundations that they made a mess of in october

with jackhammers,it was hell for 5 days and nothing till now.

If they start heavy construction run like hell.

but who knows when it will start.

Not take long to demolish that place. Could blow it down

But what goes up maybe a different matter.

Well seeing how long it is taking to build the place next to the Dynasty I would avoid Soi 13 for the next 6/9 months minimum

My friend who lives on Soi 13 has just e-mailed me and says the following.

Less noise this week than for months.

Roland is correct 4 bars being demolished. Another AA hotel being built there

Good thing there is no more room on the Soi to build anything else.

Also much building work all over Pattaya at the moment.

He has lived on Soi 13 for 4 years and faces Road.

He reckons anybody staying at Sandyspring Hotel with a pool / sea view should not hear any noise.

Best bet would be to book a couple of nights to see how things are.

Dynasty I think is a no go at the moment

Hope this helps

When they're doing the pile driving it doesn't matter where your room faces, the noise will be bad. A few years back I was staying at the Pattaya Center facing Soi 12 when they were doing the pile driving for the Sandy and it was unbearable.

Maybe just close all hotels on Soi 13 until all building work is complete.

I stayed Sandyspring for 5 weeks Oct/Nov 04 only heard building noise once yet many on here reporting world war 3 at same time.

Some boardies walking Soi 13 hear a noise and straight away post stay away.

My friend has lived on Soi 13 for 4 years he said most tourists exaggerate postings on noise level.

if jackhammers or pile driving is involved its hell you can not exaggerate it.

Thats why i have booked the arcea for the first 2 weeks in march

its not worth the hell when you have a short vacation.

i will go back to the sandy spring when i know for sure the heavy stuff is over and done with.

Same same, when they did the pile driving for Dynasty many moons ago, I lived at the old AA by Beach Road. Room facing the pool/sea. Now these two hotels are at the opposite end of that soi of each other, with many buildings between, and still the noise was a real hell.

When the pile driving is beeing done, you'd better be far far away....

Now, could take another year before they start that though. B)

I might start there, but I will be pretty quick to relocate if any noise.

I don't go on holiday to stay on a fucking building site or listen to pile drivers etc at 8am in the morning so as far as I'm concerned I'll be given Soi 13 a swerve until the whole lot is finished.

I am a jolly light sleeper and I have stayed at the Sabai Lodge when they were building the new bit;it can be very annoying.

Solution

Go chemist, get tablet for sleep (try alprazolam) take tablet at bed time 3-4 am put in ear plugs,(you get given the nice soft ones on the aeroplane) plenty good sleep till about 2.30 pm! no problem. :D

2.30 pm, coffee, boom boom, bars. :D
