Chris - Arriving in 3 weeks ? My self and my pal George arrive 4 March. George is into seafishing and is also wondering about possibilities. I have already had some good advice from a member of this board (Hilly) which not favourable - i.e. the fishing is a bit sparse. However he has said that he will give me an update after a planned trip.

Hilly said the fishing is sparse?? Oh my lord...now he was on the boat and witnessed one hell of a battle as my friend tried to land her catch of the day. It all started after she'd sunk the line in the water and we were having a Tiger Beer. Sitting there relaxing & about 20 minutes later her pole nearly went overboard! 1luv

She struggled to land this catch & I don't even recall how long the fight took to get this one out of the water. I can't believe she got this onboard. Thankfully we had a guide very skilled with the net.

But, I'll tell you this....even after the exhaustion, it was a rewarding catch! Don't you agree???

Have a great time fishing,

Shamrock Bar on Pattayaland 2 will organize a fishing trip. I believe they're still using Captain Dang. Cameron tells me last week they brought in a couple of really nice sized Threadfin salmon, a barracuda and rockfish. See Terry or Cameron for details - they're across from the Penthouse Hotel.

The fishing is now absolutely crap. The best time was before Christmas when a few sailfish ventured into the area but even they were nothing special. They have all migrated back South now as have most other pelargic species.

If you want to go fishing then go to Phuket and not here, You will be dissapointed 99% for sure. Terry at Shamrock can put you onto Capt Dang who has been at it aver 20 years and I have fished with him. He tries hard and knows where to go. Still low chances of landing a whopper but better than with most who really do not give a toss.

As for the PSC site please notice that it has never been updated since 2001 for fishing results. Reason. There were none. Also notice that fish are so rare here that whenever anyone catches one they kill it even if it is not suitable for the pot.
