Tonight I like Louisville, illinois, Texas Tech, and and OSU

Good call except OSU is going to have trouble beating Arizona. I think Louisville looked great tonight beating the top seed. I knew Washington was overeated. I think North Carolina is going to win it all. Vermont will win it Next year they are my new team.

cheers

My fighting Illini took care of the trolls, now on to Arizona. It should be a good fight, but the Illini will face the tarheels in the finals and that will be the show. :fingers

yea, my brackets are fucked also. I am only losing a bottle of Makers Mark and I will get to help drink it anyway 1luv I have NC and Illini in the final game with the Tar Heels taking it all. This has been such a shitty year for basketball in the hoosier state , all our teams suck. It is hard to believe 5 years ago we put 6 teams in the NCAA tournament. :(

snicker snicker, :beer :D

I heard commentators talkin trash about big ten and other conferences and talkin how the ACC was obviously the best confernce becuase they had so many teams left after the first round. Well the elite 8 now has 3 big ten teams. Who got there rollin on the ACC.

And the final four could wind up with 3 big ten teams. But I think the tarheels will beat the cheeseheads. So make it 2 of the final 4.

2guns Go Illini!!! 2guns

Illinois is a very talented team, so much so that they've only played one game all season decided by less than 5 points, which they lost. Makes them highly suspect if anyone besides Ohio State can take them to the wire.

'Nova got ripped off last night. They had UNC on the ropes and the refs gave UNC the game. My bracket said UNC but as a Philly boy my heart cried 'Nova. But 'Nova could have won if they had gotten the ball inside to Fraser some in the 2nd half and fouled May out.

Can Wisconsin play ugly enough ball so slow down UNC? i think the gloss is off the Tar Heels today.

The difficulty that MSU faces with Kentucky is that the Cats have 2 teams, the starters and the bench who are literally interchangable. They just keep coming with waves of fresh legs that wear the other team down in the second half ala Cincy.

I pick Kentucky to meet Louisville in the final game

Arizona was lucky to beat OSU. OSU stopped going inside to Graham who was overpowering A's inside guys. The slowdown to kill some clock resulted in bad last second shots that allowed 'Zona back in.

As a current Chitown guy, I like the Illini to win today. The inside guys Augustine/Powell/Ingrim will neutralize 'Zona's big guys and it's up to I's guards to slow Stuadimire down enuff to win.

Louisville looks unstoppable to me. they are my pick to win it all.

Damn, the wildcats really gave me a scare. I knew arizona would be a real test for the Illini becuase of the big guys and the wildcats speed. But the Illini came through. What a game though. Both sides really put it up. and BTW Rhino the illini rolled on severeal teams. 25 of their wins were by more than 10 points. 11 of those were by 20 or more points.

I don't think that wisconsin can slow down the tarheels enough to get by them. Just too much talent from tabacco road.

The spartans are another story Kentucky has real talent but the spartans have heart. Should be a great battle. :beer

To come back and win down 15 with four minutes to play gives Illinois the in-side track to win it all. There is usually a game like this in every tournament champion's run. With six games needed to win it all, you usually have to get one you should have lost, and this is it for Illinois. If Louisville can get by these guys now, they just might win it all.

Deron Williams earned himself some big bucks last night. He totaly shut down Staudimier and hit many clutch 3 point shots. To come back from 15 points down with 4 min to play is really shows the Illini have the heart of a champion.

The Louisville-IL came should be a classic. The 'Ville showed how athletic they are in their own 20 point comeback gainst the Mountaineers. With Garcia fouled out, O'Bannon took the team on his shoulders and also refused to lose.

today it should be UNC and Kentucky coming out on top.

I put a bracket entry on espn.com and I'm in the top 2%. Too bad that ranks me at 60,000. But still ok out of 2.8 million. I filled it out right before the games started, and saw that you can put together groups of friends. I'll set one up for us next year.

Well,

The tarheels are going to get an idea of what it is like to play in the Big Ten. they handled Wisconsin but they really had to work to do it. I thought the cheeshead just might pull it out.

Now they have to face Michigan State. What a game that was with the wildcats!! I am not a spartan or wildcat fans but it was a thriller.

Not to trash talk too much but I think the Illini draw against Louisville is a the best path for the Illini to the final.

the tarheel and Spartans should be another great game. but I think the Spartans match up very well against tabbacco road. I think it looks god for an all Big Ten final.

Go ILLINI. 2guns 2guns ch)

I agree that MSU poses some big problems for UNC. If Wisconsin had 1 big scoring threat they could have won that game. MSU has the inside -outside combo to take UNC. Plus they are deadly at the foul line. Missing key foul shots was what doomed Kentucky when they had a chance to put the game away.

Ok, I am going to post this JMHO , from a guy who has lived and grown up in Indiana all his life watchng Big Ten basketball. The Illini are for real very solid team all around ,definately deserve to be there but come on guys. :beer You fail to point out what happens almost every year with big ten teams. When the refs let play go and call very little then the big ten does well. Ever notice how the Big Ten either goes deep into tournament or gets knocked out early ???? The last real team in the Big Ten was Izzos team that won it all. If the refs let the game go I believe MSU will beat the tarheels, because I think McCants will wilt , and is only so much Shawn May can do. MSU will just cycle guys in to hack on him. Tarheels have no chance of winning if they have 2 cold shooting streaks from the outside.

Unless all of louisville team in unconscience from deep I just dont see them beating the Illini. They are just to balanced of a team. Dont toot your horns too much big Tens guys, you need some redemption. MSU one year in basketball and OSU in football one year and that is it. When is your athletics going to come back up to power ? Hell even Iowa wrestling is struggling :beer Better start paying your players better.

I have my fire suit on so flame away :beer

Too bad about UK losing a tough one to Mich St. Sparks was definitely fouled on that last second three pointer. I thought the Cats had the focus and resolve to win the National Championship this year.

Belem:

Tubby Smith did a hell of a job with that team. Only one guy on that team has a chance at being a good pro ( rondo) Chuck Hayes will be lucky to be a yeoman and azibuki like players are a dime a dozen at the pro level. Usually Kentucky has some real blue chippers, but you got to hand it to Tubby B)

Damn and they actually got a hot white chick who knows basketball

Okay, it's semi-finals day, one of the best sportsbar days of the year. A great day to just plant yourself in front of a big screen with some beer and food and a few buddies and enjoy some roundball. Personally I'm not touching these games. Any of these teams could win it all and I wouldn't be too suprised. If I had to pick I'd take the favorites (UNC, Illinois) and then take UNC on Monday night. But what do I know, I had Alabama in the Final 4 :o

BTW, after I watch the Championship game Monday night I fly to LA on the first leg of my trip to Thailand. Is that the way to start a holiday or what? :beer Only 66 hours til lift-off! Wo-Hoo! :D

Randolph Morris will be a pro, and I think Ramel Bradley will be too when it is all said and done. I think Morris will be a Sean May type of player in two years. Chuck Hayes was a high school All American football player playing tight end before he decided to concentrate on basketball full time. Maybe he should go out for the NFL draft and try to be the next Antonio Gates. Tubby did a good job with a young team.
