I'm another who'll avoid a bar that's showing football, especially if England are playing. :eyecrazy

Forest games?

This is a new one for me. Is this anything like Find The Gnome or where Prince Charles and his mates chase after a fox on there horses?

Nottingham Forest football club.

European cup winners twice, how many times have Chelsea/Arsenal/yids etc won it?

The beautiful game, thats FOOTBALL not fucking soccer. FOOTBALL! :chogdee2

Reminds me when of the day Forest were playing Hamburg in the 1980 final. I had raced up to the church at the end of a funeral, and was sitting surrounded by other people waiting for the coffin to leave the church. The parish priest came down the aisle smiling at everyone saw me, stopped and said " well John, How do you think Forest will do tonight". He had spent some years in Nottingham when he was a curate. We discussed the game in the church to accommpanying smirks all round. :cry1

Nottingham Forest shared the greatest football manager who has ever lived. He won everything in the game except the FA Cup with teams he developed from nothing. He sadly died recently. He left a legacy in the East Midlands that will never be surpassed.

His name is Brian Clough.

I would - if it wasn't for the fact that I'd likely be outnumberd by something like 50 - 1 :D

THe results so far have surprised me ... roughly 50-50 for would vs wouldn't.. That sort of relects the even split I saw in the bar up here in Chiang Mai.

To miss-quote the famous mis-quote, "Its a game of two halves"

If a world cup rugby match was scheduled and the bar was not going to show it I would drink somewhere else. If it was world cup round ball game it would not bother me, purely because I have not played it myself, and quite frankly do not have any idea or understanding of the rules. I feel this may change soon as TG loves the round ball game. I am not refering to Gaelic football here..

totally agree with you

unfortunatley brits have a bad name and get bad press

strange as been in turkey for a local "derby" game and when home team lost the turks smashed up the hotel i was staying out. very scary.

police called but no action taken as this is normal.

happens in uk and front page headlines

lets hope it stays away from pttya

Hmmmm, Excuse me the English have a bad name and get bad press. To mention the Brits you are implying that Northern Ireland, Wales and Scotland have that reputaion. I think if you were to look at recent history you will discover that these three nation's supporters have an excellent record when it comes to causin trouble(or should I say not causin trouble). And dont argue that these nations have small populations and dont have many fans.

Fact:- Wales are the best supported team in Europe over the last 5 years in competitive matches and on a regular basis play to capacity crowds in Cardiff(72,000)

Fact:- Scotland took a travelling support of 15,000 to Belgium for a World Cup Qualifier 3 years ago.

Fact:- Glasgow Celtic had 80,000 fans (yes 80,000) converge on Seville, Spain for a European Final in '03. The club was commended for the behavoiur of its fans By UEFA. :clueless

You can add me to the camp with the guys who will pick a bar that is showing the games. Hell, this morning I was even looking at the schedule and realized that I'll have to book my July trip next year to leave a day earlier so I'll be in Pattaya for the semi final games.

But I'll try to be a little selective about which bar I choose to watch the game at. I go to bars to enjoy myself. Cold beers, warm girls, and a good game sounds like a great mixture. But if the other guys are more interested in causing a ruckus just for the sake of being an ass then I'll move on down the road.

Had a great night out in Cardiff last year watching Wales play Scotland in the Millenium stadium, fantastic atmosphere and no trouble at all. Bit like going back for the rugby really.

It was nice to see the love from the Welsh supporters for our majesty the queen and national anthem on saturday i wonder what Charlie thought of it.

I'm indifferent to football. If the game is on a screen on mute and a few guys are watching it then fine. If its a big crowd screaming and yelling then nope I would go elsewhere. If every bar in the street is showing the football, being the one exception may bring custom in.

conley, aren't Scottish football supporters also responsible for the worst bigotry and racism in the British game under the guise of the Auld Firm?

Yes, 100% correct. But I was referring to National teams and the fans who travel to support them. The Scottish Tartan Army are welcomed all over the world. Their recent good gehaviour record is good.

I am appalled by the hatred and bigotry that is connected to the game in the West of Scotland.

I would imagine there will be plenty more love tomorrow night in Belfast for your National Anthem. Many of them showing love would no doubt consider themselves loyalists. :chogdee2

But the thing is it's supposed to be the national anthem of Great Britain if they hate us so much why don't they tell us to stop sending them money from central funds? they can keep there sheep, hills and potatoes, we would be a lot better off! and they would be in a so so sorry state without the English money, beggars i'm sick of em :P

Hate=jealous. :o

Nah - It's the blatant English bias shown by the so called BRITISH media, including the BRITISH Broadcasting Corporation. :ang2 2guns

Surprised that no-one's mentioned the scores from last night. B)

After years of suffering under that useless cunt Vogts, Scotland now appear to be on the road to climbing their way back up the world rankings after beating Norway in Oslo last night and drawing with Italy at home on Saturday.

I make no comment on England's result last night, other than to say "Well done, Northern Ireland" :finger
