To LOSTINSPACE: On December 22, 2005 my husband and I are arriving at Laem Chabang via cruise ship (Diamond Princess). We will be in port from 7:00AM to 7:00PM and would like to go to Pattaya for the day either to sightsee or play golf. We were in Bangkok last year for several days which is why we want to do something different this time. Are you available that day to at least get us to Pattaya and back? Have you any suggestions re. golf courses close by? 9 or 18 holes doesn't matter. We would rent a cart and clubs at the course vs. bringing our own. PS. We are from Vancouver, B.C. and taking a cruise from Singapore to Auckland.

Hi yes that date is OK.

and there is a course, 18 holes ,20mins away from pattaya,if you decide to do that.

ID suggest 9 holes as it gets hot and a change of clothes.and from there a short drive to the temples ,and nock nook gardens.shopping,etc..

I wish to say this service is excellent,not only was Jan waiting for me on arrival i had a problem with customs i took too many ciggys from the uk i got busted and had to go to the customs office in bkk which took 3-4 hours,Jan stayed with me throughout and helped me i cannot thank her enough,i would reccomend this lady very highly,Jan if you read this thanks for everything i will book my return to bkk with you

A moment for a bit of praise.

 

I arrived in Pattaya today from the US. As all American BMs know, that trip is brutal. 25 hrs door to door minimum.

 

A BM named lostinspace (Paul) and his wife Jan have started up a quality airport / Pattaya transfer service. I used it today.

 

Jan met me with a sign with my first name on it, plus a particular shirt they identify to ensure no one co-opts your name for theft, she put me in a good car, weaved her way through a godawful parking lot and got me here. The traffic is horrible, as we all know, and she's deft at maneuvering through it without becoming aggressive or doing risky things and making you nervous. She's personable and is a nice tour guide during the drive. She also brings drinks if you want one enroute.

 

I won't presume to quote their price here. It is higher than 1500 baht with all tolls paid, so if all you want is a taxi for that amount, that will be your cheapest option. We all know the risks with that.

 

But I chose not to. I preferred no hassle with haggling after 25 hrs in the air. I preferred someone who speaks passable English. I preferred someone who took a few extra turns in Pattaya to show me Paul and her favorite steakhouses. And I preferred someone who waited for my late plane today. (And there's a thread on here explaining how she helped out one of our board members who got into a bit of a sticky problem with the immigration police over cigarettes. She translated for him.)

 

Anyway, that's my 2 cents worth of testimonial. I got my money's worth and will use them again. And no, I don't know them and have no financial interest in their business.

Jan and i would only like to keep this with in the FLB pattaya pages,and my many mates who come and go and get me on the piss.

Jan as you can read, does too good a job, and loves it,

we know the town and the area,if we don't ,i look it up.

I must also add my endorsement for the excellent service provided.

 

For something a little different, our pick up was from a lesser known BKK hotel and Jan was there an hour early and was happy to wait as we had arranged for a third person to meet us at the hotel for the trip to Pattaya.

 

Return trip was from from the Areca to Bkk airport and again Jan arrived half hour early and was happy to go out of the way to take us via Walking St so G/F could drop some things at her room.
