Pete the owner has informed me of early next year at the latest, he will be able to offer guest staying at Sky-Top FREE in room high speed internet for those who bring their own laptop. He has also informed me that those customers staying for more then 7 days will go into a yearly draw for a FREE 7 night accomendation as the prize. Start date is 1 November 2005 until 31 October 2006.

BE there or be square.!!

The only good thing going for the skytop, is that the FREE security next door happens to be the tourist police station.

Other than that it is a dirty shit hole. There are many better places on soi buhkao for 1/2 the cost. Which would add up to 233 baht a day. And those places are cleaner, better, and NEWER.

I agree, for a person who claims to get good value for what he spends I can't understand why BigD contiues to stay there. The amount of baht you've saved by staying at the Cock and Bull is significantly more than if you had stayed at the Skytop and been the winner of the prize.

Any idea if these 233b/nite places will still offer these prices in mid Nov (high season)?

Im assuming these places are walk-in prices , but if anyone have website or email for booking in advance, please let me know. Id like to book in advance so have place to stay upon arrival since Ive never been to Pattaya before. Im also assuming all places in this area are guest friendly. Also, Please let me know if these cheaper places are fan rooms or a/c?

Like I said, I will be there mid Nov.

Thanks all.

The rate Ting Tong is talking about is a monthly rate and you will be hard pressed to find that rate in High Season but there are still deals to be found

These places are guest friendly, to get those low rates below 300 require you to book for a month. Most of the places with the low monthly rates have a daily rate of 400.

The 233 baht place I have stayed at (V&M Terrace) is pretty well booked out by late October by long-stays.

Way better value than Skytop (not a flame, just fact).

The place is clean. In room safe and excellent location on 2nd Road. Around the corner from soi 6. Are there better places to say. Sure.

Are you still running from the guy who was looking for you? If I remember correctly that's why you ran away from Sky-Top, not beause it was dirty.

Hi

What are vacancies like at the moment? A friend may be going around mid-Nov but he likes to see a place before booking in so he doesn't like to book on the net. He is very price concious and the rate seems ok for him and near soi 6,7,8.

I have to repeat, the skytop is a filthy, dirty shithole.

The owner can not polish a turd.

60 baht a minute for internet service downstairs is way high, as almost all places on soi buhkao is 30 baht.

The place is no deal, as it has small rooms, and a tiny dirty 3x5 foot bathroom with an open wall.....if you farted while taking a dump, your guests can hear it.....same for them, if they fart, you can hear and smell it.

I prefer to not slum :D

I rather like Skytop. The owner's great, the staff is great, the location's excellent and the place is very clean. I'll be back for my fourth stay in a just a bit over two weeks. I'm counting the minutes 'till I depart..

(and of course it's 60 baht an hour not minute but by the time people read this sentence you're likely to have edited your post to fix your typo so they won't know what I'm referring to).

It's a 3 or 4 minute walk to soi 6. Even my elderly BG in a walker have no problem making the walk from the back of the beyond. :D

Ting Tong,

Just as your internet pricing is wrong so must be your vision. This place is CLEAN and yes the rooms are small but it's only 450 per night.

There are rooms available during November.

typo, 1 baht 1 minute, and the services for the cafe are still priced high, I just walked by there as I was going to the bank.

OK, skytop is a 5 star hotel by Khao San Road ratings, only because there are no rats running through the rooms.

I did not see roaches so its a Khao San Road 5 star ranking.

I did pass by another hotel for 350 bt a night on the backroads, its Classic Inn.....I did not look at the rooms, but it does have AC, hot water, cable, telephone.

its walking distance to the best thai foods.

Opposite Little Duck hotel, just off central road.

Classic Inn

038 426557

Just for laughs, chochalan hotels bathrooms are 3 times bigger and 3 times cleaner :banghead
