Tropical Berts Hotel/Bar

just joined this site with a view to vsiting Pattaya again after not been there since 1987 long time however Im wondering if any of you know of Tropical Berts . I used to serve in the same regiment as him but cant seem to find is Bar or web site in any of the hotel information that ive looked at.

 

any help will be most greatfull thanks.

I haven't stayed there but I did look over the rooms. Excellent value for the money. Good pub grub also.

Last time I was in Patts I went to TBs every other day to use his wifi and have a few coffees etc.

 

Looked like a good place to me and will head back there next time.

 

No encryption on the network so it's simple to access etc.

Stayed at Bert's in February for 14 days good food. back or bar entrance to the room. was quiet and had a great time there room was only 700 bht and i think the wifi in the room is free now I will stay there again oh and the room was cleaned every day no matter what time the BG left

Thanks for all your kind comments gents, I will put room safes in soon but my experiance of them is it maybe a key or a pin number you have to put in yet the girls will always find it!! ( they spray the key board on the safe to find your code!!! ). Safe deposit boxes need 2 keys ( 1 for you, 1 for cashier ) and when used are seen by other guests or staff.

Terryni, I hope you call in to see us, all ex Army or any service are more than welcome.

Before you purchase the safes may I suggest you talk with Mr. Dave Wales at The Golden Crab on Soi 13? The safes in his apartments are the best I've seen anywhere (but they could be a bit larger). A possible 8 digital combination that would make it nearly impossible for anyone to guess the code.

Never realised BG's could spray the keys and get the pin? So how does that work - fingerprints?

 

Is there anyway of stopping them - like pushing the buttons with the end of a pin?

 

BTW - I viewed your rooms and liked then - the only thng which stopped me staying was the lack of in-room safes - for me the problem comes when returning with BG, after bar closes about 2am - what the hell can one do with ATM card, cash, watch? I don't see a way around this problem.

Cleaner (or whoever) wipes keypad clean with cloth.

 

You open safe by pressing numbered keys and leave print on key.

 

Cleaner (or whoever) puts a little talc on keys which shows which keys have been pressed (but not the order, of course). If the code is just four digits (and many are) it doesn't take too long to try each variation until bingo!

 

Simple solution - wipe the keys clean with a cloth everytime AFTER you use the safe.

I have had two good afternoons in here and the food and conversation was great. First time in about 4 months ago I drank 4 bottles of the Argentinian red wine and my wife found me on the steps to the apartment in soi three!! Second time was also great chatting to other people at the bar but having a few glasses of Bass.

I just returned home from a month in Pattaya. Stayed the month at Tropical Berts. Bert and his wife Pu were great hosts. The monthly rate was 18k baht and guests receive 10% off all food and drinks in bar. Bert has also worked discounts with the dentist in his facility. I will stay there again. PattayaFest Website

I have a feeling this new property is a gem. We don't have may reviews on it, but the few we do are all positive. Now we hear it's booked solid through March (already)! Damn! For Attn JMHO can you tell me the day you were in, It sounds like a Sunday yet at 7pm we were full of people watching football not slagging others off, that normally starts after 10. I have never seen our staff ignore or be unfriendly and as regards the meal I am sure if you had complained at the time that you were not happy you would have got your money back. I have spoken to all my staff yet no body can recall any bad comments etc.

Had roasts aplenty in Berts and never been dry and soggy pastry not present either in my experiences. Service from staff always excellent even when extremely busy. Sure you were'nt at old bar which now non existent? only way to explain complaints, by the way if complaint given during time there satisfactory outcome would be certain as Bert prides himself on running good establishment! and experience made more tolerable.
