At that time of night, I wouldn't care what the cost of the bf was. If I want the girl, then I would not worry whether the bf is Bht. 200, 400 or 600.

 

Also, after gaving been out drinking for 6 hours, money seems to lose its significance, which is probably why I always go home with an empty pocket.

now if you really want to experiment with barfines, and you're up for an even bigger logistical nightmare, try this one out... (MM looked at me like i was fuckin' crazy when i suggested it to him)

 

keep your barfine the same throughout the night, but as the night goes on, give a bigger percentage of it to the girl. eg., if the barfine is 600 baht and the girl is barfined at:

 

7PM-11PM: give the girl her standard 100 baht

11PM-12AM: give the girl 200 baht

12AM-1AM: give the girl 300 baht

1AM-2AM: give the girl 400 baht

after 2AM: give the girl 500 baht

 

what will this accomplish for you?

 

girls will have an incentive to keep a guy around (drinking) before getting barfined.

 

also, at 1:30AM when they're thinking, "i can go home soon," they now have a huge incentive to keep working the guys who walk into the bar.

 

from the bar's perspective, you're still giving a discount on the barfine as the night goes on, but you're giving the extra $ to your employees instead of your customers.

 

it's also a way to sneak extra money to the women who are barfined most often (and are likely the woman who are drawing guys into the bar)... often you might want to pay your stunners more, but that can cause tensions with the other employees. this way, it's like a hidden bonus.

 

what do you have to lose? it's a pain in the ass to implement (but that's what cheap labor is for anyway...). but you don't lose much from the bottom line (and might actually gain), since the incentive you're creating is for women to stay in the bar longer before getting barfined. you also take away the incentive they have to meet punters outside 15 minutes after the bar closes.

That is what I was thinking. If she is trying to get me to stay in the bar and Im ready to go then she just got left

 

But to get back to your original question as to raise or lower the BF....

 

Im sure you can raise the BF if you choose and since its high season im sure most people wouldnt care. But the lower BF gives you an advantage over your competitors so if you have some wiggle room you may be able to raise it but still keep it under what the competition charges.

 

Another thought is this. If you are trying to get punters into the bar after 2 then you can always lower the price of the lady drinks after 2am

I agree with SOS. Your system just gives BGs an excuse to work guys for more LDs and the extra BF baht. If I really wanted her I'd pay her the difference and leave immediately. Problem is, this sort of "milking" of the punter turns me off to the point that I would leave and not go back. (See my report on the Honey Pot)

 

As to the original post, it's a nice gesture, but it wouldn't draw me to the club unless I happen to be in the neighborhood.

 

I'm with BigD. I can pay 200 baht BF at 6 or 7 PM for a hot girl at any one of a hundred or so beer bars. I ain't gonna wait until 2AM so I can get the left overs from a gogo.

 

If I'm girl-less at 2AM I know I can find a girl without paying a BF. Lots of girls getting off work at that time who would love to make a little cash before heading home.

its plausible. Again Im not a vet but I have been to LOS. On my trip to LOS my buddy and I spent ALOT of time at this bar and we were fining girls from there pretty much nightly. So after about the 7th day I went to pay baa, and told the owner Im not going to pay the fine tonight because my bill was something like 5000bht. We talked about it and argued, and we got out of there with paying a BF of 200bht for 2 girls.

very simple solution, to the high barfine scene , DONT PAY IT !.

 

bars and clubs charging bar fines of 1000 b are ripping you off, big style.

 

if nobody barfined a girl for a week in a gogo charging 1000 b all of his girls would leave, forcing the owner to bring down the barfine cost or close.

 

same with the 600 b merchants.

 

a girl is a girl is a girl , doesnt matter where she works, the barfine should be universal the exception being maybe a showgirl , but her rules should be ,cant barfine till after her show, then same price as everybody else.

Some guys are suckers andcan be played but you can't play everyone, if i walk into a Bar and It can't deliver wahtever I want , Eg reasonable priced drinks,reasonable BF, reaonable girls I would leave.

If I went to a bar and said" you go back with me" and she said "me no go for 2 hours", i'd just move onto the next girl or next bar.

I am on holiday to enjoy myself, and the reason i like Pattaya and LOS is when there I am the King and I dictate what I want, when I want it , how much I want etc etc.

Thats the right Idea to keep the punters in your Bar.

Kid them into thinking they getting something for free, when in fact they are spending another 1,000-2,000 on drinks to save 200 on BF.

Better to lower barfine to 400 baht at all hours, that would keep the punters pouring in!

The price of the bar fine isn't what keeps me coming back or sticking around for the evening. What does is the attitude of the girls. or if there is a good show. I'm on holidays and looking to have some fun and laughs. I don't mind spending money but don't like to be pressured. I know how the game works and keep the girls drinks coming for their company. I'll often have a few girls around if it isn't busy.

 

A 200-500 baht bar fine is insignificant in the overall scheme of things especially if the girls want 2000 -2500 for LT.

I am flumuxed here...( to start with highest ever asked for B/F has been 500baht ) however girls that want to be with me have never asked for more than 200baht ....this is beer bar...as the ladies know that I will spend at 2000/3000 in the bar beforehand and that I will give them a tip in the morning....normal long time for me 1700baht

Im gone back to loom by 1 am ( got to pace myself even to get that far ) as I think I am one of the "older" guys here...sort of well over 50

 

So as to the OP we all rock a different boat...l do think looking for better ways to help your bar is commendable and hope the BM will give you feedback that you can ponder ....at the end of the day its "up to you"

There is a hotel in up on Suthisan Road that charges 1200B a night. However, if you stay there, they give you a nice little laminated loyalty card which entitles you to stay there again any time for 500B. Iys basically a loyalty card.

 

This might be a better option. You get a card on your first time bar fine, at the standard rate. If you come back and barfine again, then you get the discount. You might the rider on the card which says this only applies after, say 9pm, at night.

 

The card basically provides an incentive for customers to come back. It's the founding principal of loyalty cards for all businesses: You want to provide the specials for your most loyal customers.

 

The card could also be used to get 5-10% discount on the drinks bill as well. Such a card would go down well with the locals - and let's face it, it is often the custom of the expats which keeps bars nad clubs afloat during the off-season.

 

 

As for the hotel in Bangkok, the loyalty card works for me. I have been back there at least 4 times.

 

This might be a better way of generating repeat business.

After midnight cut it in half to 300 baht. After 2 am - no bar fine. That would ensure some loyalty.

I will post this alone but i want to tell you here as well Any one who has a bill of 5000 bt or more this week i will pay your bar fine .

 

Lets see if it makes anyone happer at the end of the night. Only thing this has to be done with no more than 2 guys drinking together (i think you understand why).

 

Also just to let you know the 200 bt bar fine = 100 bt of this is given to the girl.
