Recommended Posts

Hi guys.

I\m fed up of living in a condo and I would like to rent a house in Pattaya, not the darkside and anywhere near a baht bus route.

I will appreciate any info.

Cheers

Beware, one gets a sense of a double pricing structure. What you see advertised by the bigger agents, presumably looking at the tourist or uneducated market and what Expats pay. Sadly over Sukhumvit, or the 'darkside', is where prices can be more sensible. Check out the newspapers online, Pattaya mail classifieds etc.

I've seen plenty of listings for houses up on Pratumnak, but you'd need a motorbike or have to rely on motorbike taxi. Any reason you're relying on the baht bus? That's limiting your choices a fair bit.

I realise I'm limiting my choices but I would prefer to be on a baht bus route because I don't want to drive myself.

Thanks for all the info guys...keep it coming.

Try getting out and walking. I found a great place just behind Carrefour, only trouble was when I had TGF call and talk to theowner's GF I found out that he was from Iraq and didn't want to rent to an American. :cry2

I am renting a furnished, two bedroom house off soi arunothai (opp Carrefour in pattaya klang) many houses around here for about 10-12000k a month. You have to walk to klang to get a baht bus but its only about 7-8 minutes. nice quiet area as well. drop me a pm if you would like to have a look around.

What about those houses in between View Talay 1 and View Talay 2 ? I used to live in VT2 and I could see some of them were for rent just by signs on them. I'd suspect you'd be looking at reasonable money for renting but they would be on the baht bus route.

Other end is Naklua where you can get some very near to the bus routes.

Chateau Dale or View Talay villas and the like are probably out of budget as Bt50-150k per month.

I spoke with someone at those houses between View Talay 1 and 2 close to a year ago when I was driving around looking to price the houses. He said he was paying 40,000B/m for a single floor house near to the air conditioner "Kongman" shop.
