For reasons if stated here would incriminate me, I will most likely only ever visit 2 of these hotels.

The Vegas hotels are poorly chosen. There's no reason an adult should have to go to Circus Circus or Excalibur. The Flamingo, MGM Grand, and Luxor are old hotels that don't compare to several of the nicer and newer place.

The Bellagio is the only hotel that would place on a list of the 25, maybe even 50, best hotels in the U.S., no where near the 10 best in the world. And Circus Circus and the Ambassador City Jomtien? :D

I kept waiting for the punchline because this list is really a joke. How does one justify such tired, worn-out properties like Circus Circus and Excalibur, and leave off some truly great hotels like . . .

The Peninsula (any of 'em -- Hong Kong, Bangkok, Beverly Hills, etc.)

The Couer d'Alene Resort (Idaho, USA)

The Mandarin Oriental (San Francisco)

The Savoy (London)

etc., etc.

The Savoy is ok but the pool is often freezing. They screwed with the menu at the Savoy Grill when no-one had complained for 100 years. Jacket and tie job but saddle of lamb to die for and the beef wellington great as well. Extra of either no problem. Worth every penny and you never knew who would be joining you for dinner.

"Grate" Hotels? What, do they supply cheese graters or something?

Obviously, your knowledge of hotels is only surpassed by your spelling.

Grate

1. To rub roughly or harshly, as one body against another, causing a harsh sound; as, to grate the teeth; to produce (a harsh sound) by rubbing.

2. To reduce to small particles by rubbing with anything rough or indented; as, to grate a nutmeg.

3. To fret; to irritate; to offend. :D

I've stayed at 6 of the 12. Bellagio and Venetian were pretty good, Paris and MGM Grand well above average, Luxor just OK, Circus-Circus is dated.
