Your problem is not with pattayatalk. It is now as always fast.

Short...I've been waiting for ever for the photo on your last post, (which hasn't been resized yet) to download. Maybe that has something to do with the speed. I opened up the website again on another tab whilst the photo was downloading and posted this topic. when I went back to the photo it still hadn't downloaded after maybe 10 minutes. However, regardless of that, the site seems slow compared to other websites, and the speed I used to get here. I'm pretty sure that there's no clutter on my system as I clean it and run AVG, AdAware, Tune Up Utilities and Malwarebyte scans very regularly. I am running Mozilla firefox and my ToT ADSL connection is 1024 kpbs.

lol Obsession. My xp machine with all the software that I knew and worked well died on me and now I'm at the mercy of a Vista machine.

On my Xp machine I pressed a few buttons and reduced copies of all my photos appeard by magic. Not so on my Vista POS.

Hopefully Martin will be waking soon to resize that photo.

Hi, 4

I'm running TOT ADSL and when i connect to internet it states on the bottom of my screen, local area is now connected, Speed 100MBPS.

As you are running only 1MBPS, as you state, it will be slow.

I'm only on the medium speed connection, they have 3 packages to choose from, but this is O.K. for me, not to slow. The connection costs just over 500B per month. When travelling i use a aircard in my portable and that is slow. but what the heck, you can use it in Thailand anywhere you can use a mobile phone. Far better and safer than some internet shops.

Cheers Doug.

I'm sure I have the same package as you, but it's surely 1.0 mbps. That's what it says at the bottom of my screen.

For maybe a week I've been having problems with the speed of this forum. Please tell me it's not ToT or my laptop. Other websites seem to load much quicker. MM?

I agree mate. The board server has been SLOW SLOW QUICK QUICK SLOW for a while now. MM did generate an earlier post saying that it got particularly slow at around 5pm LOS time(I think), but today at that time I couldn't log on atall for about half an hour. Presume a small crash maybe and now re-instated  Fingers crossed for a bit of stability from now on :allright

Patayatalk loads quick for me some pages do take a bit longer than others but generally its fast but i am on 20mbps speed in the UK.

It may be your TOT line as when i was in Pattaya a few months ago it was slow for me and at times couldn't log on either.

Nearly always this site loads fast for me.

I assume the server is in America as its listed as Godaddy, which should be decent.

I tested my speed to Bangkok and its not good( nor is the ping)

Hi, 4

I think you will find that the 100MBPS is your local area net connection speed,

IE the speed between your computer and your modem sat just across the room from you.

Use speedtest.net to test your approximate speed to the nearest test sites and also to London

and the USA.

Just done that test. Firstly it took ages for Speedtest to load, then again ages for the first test to complete. I list the results here.

1) To Bangkok....Download 810kbps. Upload 128kbps.

2) To UK............Download 139 kbps Upload 130 kbps

3) To US............Download 133 kbps Upload 176 kbps.

I then tried Bangkok again and got Download 253, Upload 129.

My feelings are now that TOT is the problem. Would I be correct in that assumption? If so, anything I can do? Any constructive comments please from anyone.

As stated before I'm running Mozilla Firefox and have TOT ADSL 1024 kbps service. When I did the tests I had no other programs running on my laptop.

At 1024kbps your on quite a slow connection, not as slow as dialup but not that fast for ADSL as most

of us know it.

Bearing in mind that "jacko" above is on a faster connection, never heard of 3mbps but could be true

but more like he is on a 2048kbps, normally they go

1024

2048

4096

etc

But it all depends on how far you are from the exchange and such like

My connection is a UP TO 24mbps (adsl2+) and i am within 1km of the exchange, but mine is

set for slower speed and less errors and i get about half what i should

395539482.png

i can improve my speed by about 1.5mbps but it buggers up download on demand movies so i set

it for slower speeds.

When your accessing sites that are far away you get slower speeds as i have in my earlier post above.

There are things that help i personally don't use them as i find they normally dont work much

but i am happy with my speed so i have not tried any for years, sorry.

Jacko knows what he paid for, and my router reports a 3Mbps/0.5, but I have to share that with the kids school and the rest of the street I guess. My speeds to Bangkok (I am in Pattaya) are close to that, just the pipe to the UK gets slow as everyone wakes up and sits around playing on the internet instead of going to work there!
