OK Obviously i'm not American but it looks like a great day.

Who's going?

Great food by-

* Bourbon Street serving their spicey New Orleans style specialties

* Roadhouse BBQ with their tangy grilled meats

* Sunrise Tacos and their south of the border treats

* Plus plenty of all-beef American hot dogs, charcoal grilled cheeseburgers, apple pie and let’s not forget...American beer

Music by-

* The Soi Dog Blues Band

* The Blues Machine from The Blues Factory

* An All Star group featuring The Blues Factory's Lam Morrison & Tony's Greg Carroll.

Also there will be activities for kids and adults all day long including face painting, the dunk booth, jungle gyms, balloons, and more.

Sure looks like fun. I'd go except we have a party the night before, and I've learned not to plan anything during the day after a party. :D

Not so obvious mate. In fact, you could pass for one since you have morals and are kind.

Thanks for the link. Wasn't aware of this event and been wanting to find one. Even considered going to Angeles City, still might. If I don't, I'll go to this picnic.

Cheers. Nok

I've been in the past and it is indeed a fun event. Picnics and outdoor barbecues are the sort of U.S. celebration that can be transposed well to locations abroad. One year I encountered the legendary Bernard Trink at the July 4th event in Bangkok.

Isn't it kinda ironic that the entertainment has been farmed out to the Brits? (DaveThailand, is that a correct statement?). Now thats what I call capitalism American style.

Somethings not right either. There is no hot dog eating contest on the schedule.

They've never had one. That's a commercial gimmick, nothing to do with July 4 picnics.

They have always had watermelon-eating contests for the kids, find-your-shoes in the pile. Egg toss has become traditional for Bangkok at least. Tug of War and three-legged races.

It's a US-style party with absolutely no bars on who attends.

Hows it been farmed out to the brits?

The performers are american (apart from Lam Morrison) and they will be playing american music, only the bar is brit owned.

The site says they're having a mouth sizzling :allright chili cook-off. That sounds very appealing :beer , although not a hot dog contest.

I think i'd rather go to this event in BKK than ANY event here in the states on July 4th :clap2
