A friend had asked me if she would save enough money to pay for the holiday, to get her teeth done in los, instead of the UK.She reckons it would be over £2,000 to get the crowns done in the UK. Anyone know a price? Thanks.

Thanks. Thats a lot less than she expects to pay UK. Im thinking she might be best to go outwith Pattaya for the best price.

I was quoted $1500USD for a root canal and fix a broken tooth with a crown by my home town DMD. I had the same work done in Pattaya for a bit less then half price. Smile Clinic on 2nd Road across from Tropical Bert's on soi 6/1. I'm very pleased with the work and the price.

Two years ago I had a 4 tooth bridge top front done at Pattaya International Hospital. I seem to remember that the cost was around 25,000 baht. I could have had cheaper and I could have had dearer as I had to choose the percentage of gold used.

I had a Crown in November, cost in Australia, i was quoted A$1500, costs in other western countries like UK, USA I would guess would be similar, but cost in LOS at BK Dental on 2nd Road was 8000 Baht or about A$270, they did a great job, depending on the Crown/tooth the cost was 6000b to 12000b per tooth.

For 4 Crowns I would guess the savings would pay the Airfare, the Hotel for a week or 2, quite a few drinks and meals plus a few alternative oral examinations were a bar fine may be required !

I would say that it will cost considerably less, depending on where it is done. Pattaya International very good but more expensive. I would say no more than 4k baht per too = 16K baht which is just over £300

Mick,

The Uni in Khon Kaen has a very reputable Dental Hospital that you can use. If it works the same as our place at Prince of Songkla Uni, there are two price levels for farangs who are outside of the social security fund- one for those who have a work permit but don't pay into the social security fund and one for all others. It might be worth checking out the next time you are in town.
