I would love to get 2:1 in a two horse race.

Hi,

Of course its a 3 horse race because of the 90 min rule. I hope you are right about the games. Betterbet have gone their own way and have done fairly well so far. Always looking out for a good odds compiler.

Silly me, I must be getting soft in the head. I forgot about the draw, which makes it a 3 horse race at full time. I must have been thinking about the eventual winners, if there is extra time or a penalty shoot out.

Thanks for the website. The difference in the odds between the 21 betting firms is amazing. There are a couple of companies , where you can get 19:10 on Germany, which is close enough to the 2:1 you mentioned. Many of the odds are only marginally lower, for anyone wanting to back Spain. The bookies have it all worked out, taking the draw into consideration. Betting is a mug's game. I used to bet on horses when I was a young lad and then switched to playing black jack in the casino.

Fortunately, I woke up and realized that there was no chance of winning in the long run and took an interest in the stock market, where I did very well for many years. Gains from the stock market and a well-paid job allowed me to make some good investments in property and other investments and I could retire at a relatively young age more than 10 years ago. Unfortunately, the markets have now turned into the biggest casinos in the world. I am still a long way in front, but still had to make adjustments to my lifestyle. I would not want to see another prolonged downturn, like we had in the last three years. I guess I am not the only one. Having said that and thinking back, the happiest period of my life, was, when I had no money and lived from paycheck to paycheck.

Hi,

Racing is full of flawed individuals. Cash Assmussen rode in Ireland for a short while. The bookmakers hated him because he was straight. :beer They organised people to heckle him all the time. He went on to ride with great success in Paris. One of the all time greats.

Remember, the famous Cash Asmussen story at the Phoenix Park, when he got beaten on a beast of Vincent O’Brien’s, by a short head I think?

"You wouldn’t ride Cathy Barry", screamed the voice at Cash, as he shuffled away from the inglorious number two berth.

Quick as a flash, however, Cash retorted: "Give me her number and I’ll give her a berl."

His brother Steve trained the American Horse of the Year, Rachel Alexandra, last year.

Not as beautifull as Germany but YEAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

You did not have it all your way against a surprisingly strong team from Uruguay, winning 3:2. The ever reliable von Robben is the best player of this World cup. He never fails to score when it matters. He does the same for Bayern Munich when he plays in the Bundesliga. I am glad Munich managed to sign him up for another 4 years. Von Bommel picking up a third yellow card for Holland in the last few moments of the game was unnecessary and probably undeserved. The game was shown live on Australian TV thanks to a British feed here in Thailand. I was lucky to switch briefly to Aussie TV to find out I could watch the match with English commentary in my condo. Congratulations. :drunk

Thanks! I wish you and Germany tomorrow all the luck, although, I do not think this German team needs luck.

You don't need to win every game, Reneer.

You just need to win the next one.

Holland are the unluckiest team never to have won a World Cup. Always one of the best team to watch they seem a good outside bet with Robben and Van Persie in attack. They should feel at home in Dutch speaking South Africa.

BTW I forgot Ozil is German. I thought he was Turkish. With that guy in the team Deutchland has a big chance.

However, having backed Spain in the European Championship I have to stick with them.

Hi,

I’m pleased enough with how my predictions have turned out. I think the best teams have got to these late stages which is not always the case. Tonights game could be a classic as Spain will attack and Germany will try hit them on the break. May the best team win. I think tonights winner will win the World Cup.

SUPERIOR SPAIN BUTCHERS GERMANY!!!

Gonzo, you still have de groninger as your best friend! Aufwiedersehen.

On my birthday!!!

:D

You have not won the trophy yet. Wait until Sunday before you start celebrating. I will be barracking for Holland. Germany played a dismal game tonight and where is Cheshire Tom with his prediction, that Puyol would be the weak link in the Spanish team? Tschüß :rotflmao

Hahahahahaaha

Gonzo you are my man! You are more a Australian then a German  Most of my country man (especially the "Hollanders" ) consider the loss of Germany always as victory for Holland.

My feelings? Although feeling tense with the idea, I wished it was Germany to meet The Netherlands in the final. Because the Dutch team is now not playing for The Netherlands, it is a team that is playing for them selfs as a team.

I agree with those who stated that The Netherlands schould finally win the World Championship for their overall performance.

Apart from my chauvinism, in the end it is always The Beautifull Game that wins.

Chears! :beer

Hi,

My farm is on Spain!

Hi,

The Cava is on the go early today. :D :beer The bookmakers Stan James must be sweating this morning. At the start of the tournament they offered a free bet, in place of losing bets ,if Spain win the World Cup. In fairness to them they tipped Holland to win the Cup so maybe they will survive it.

Hi,

Howard Webb of England refs the Final. I think he done a good job in the Champions League Final, but I've not been impressed with his refereeing in the World Cup. He allowed the Swiss to kick Spain off the park in the initial round. It was like watching him ref Man Utd v Arsenal at Old Trafford. :beer Lets hope he has a good game.

I'm hiding behind my original pick ..... I need the Dutch to come through to make up the cash I lost on the US failing to beat England. :D I'm sure Wesley Sneijder will be sharing the secrets of Inter's tactics that overcame Barcelona in the CL semi-final.

I've gone for Holland. Easy qualifiers and I would fancy their chances against any of the other teams. Whether they have the strength in depth to cope with the schedule is a bit of a concern though. :beer

A hundred quid ? - A hundred ? Are you mad ? I'd want a house and a horse and cart for a hundred quid ! :rotflmao

I wish you hadn't told me that. Now, I know how much I wanted to be sitting next to you, when Gerrard's goal went in after 4 min's. Darn, I might have paid a hundred quid for that !

Well, I can't help with that much, but I do cook a fair Khao phad gai. How do you like it ? Pet ? Mai pet ?

I will keep an eye on Loch Lomond, don't like golf, but what a setting. :rotflmao

Hi,

I'm not the only one who has doubts.

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/...oward-Webb.html

World Cup final: Spain unhappy with appointment of Howard Webb

Howard Webb's appointment as World Cup final referee has caused consternation in Spain in the wake of the English official's performance in their opening match against Switzerland.

"Bad news - Webb will referee the final," was the damning verdict of daily sports newspaper Marca, while another, AS, described the appointment as "debatable" because he had "made two mistakes" which cost Spain during the 1-0 defeat by the Swiss.

Marca claimed Webb had not given an obvious penalty in favour of David Silva and allowed the winning goal to stand which they believed was offside. His officiating would bring back "bad memories for La Roja", grumbled the Barcelona-based Mundo Deportivo.
