Are you still a fan if you don't watch every match?

I think if you actually watch every match you are a fanboy.

I'm retired and CAN watch every match,so Fanboy I am! I've made the past few WCs in person and gave this one a pass.I figure

I've got 2 or 3 more in person in me.I'll be watching every match, even the howlers.

No matter where they are, WC matches always are sometimes very late at night, even the Japan ones went past 1am on occasion, although the Asian World Cup was certainly the most convenient ever. But even if they were all conveniently timed, I can't see watching 64 soccer games in a month, good grief! And during the baseball season ferpetesake!

Very simple schedule here for Americans by the way:

LTGTR, you might enjoy this analysis of the US-England game, guy says it has to be "attack, attack, attack" and it's hard to argue, with Donovan and Dempsey in there.

Games times are manageable for me here.I was at the Korea WC (didn't see any Japan based matches) and travel was surprisingly good in Korea as I saw matches in several cities.I did a few homestays and it was a nice way to meet folks.

Thanks for the link.We have no chance against England.Only chance to score would be from set piece, even with Ronald McDonald (David James) in goal.Joe Hart should be the 1st choice.

Goalkeeper is the only position where we are better.I see a 3-0 final or 3-1 if we get lucky.

It'll have to be IMO.With Jersey OutTheDoor as #1 striker,it's so sad.1 goal for Hull this year and 1 red card-yeah,he's the man!At least Buddle has some promise and they will go with 4-4-2.Dempsey is the better player of the 2 midfielders-far more creative and a better finisher than Donovan.

Here's my (very informal, no radio buttons) polls:

Question 1: Is John Barnes simply the greatest?

Rap artist, I mean?

Question 2: How about those vuvuzelas? Ban them or love them?

All the England games- as will the Scot's Welsh and Irish.

I will watch the German and Argie' games, for the same reason the Scots, Welsh and Irish watch ours- hoping to see them get beaten.

I'll certainly watch all the Aussie games, beyond that I'll watch as many as I can. Last WC I caught all the 'Big Moment' games ,plus, most of the others. Though I must admit to falling asleep a bit toward the end of the tournament, but, It was easy enough to catch the ones you missed but wanted to watch as the broadcaster (SBS) replayed them during the day. It was quite good actually as they took the booring bits out and showed a condensed version for the replays (opening here for smartarse comments..........are you out there Vic? )

Trouble is: 4weeks of watching when you're usually sleeping does-me-ed-in a bit. Expect nonsensical, misspelt and emotional posts sometime in week three.

Of course, some would say that, that is status quo for this poster anyway.

I was drawn in by the thread title, but now that I see it's a "fan thread" I will respectfully supress any smart ass comments . . . honest.

I just don't get it WTF is the draw ?

to me the Whirled Cup is when I spin off a big titted BG's bra & it flies thru the air in a whirl/spin

I will watch all 3 England group games alone. Large groups take away the nail-biting involvement (for me). And anyway when England score I'm not someone to be near. I really bordered on insanity when an 18 yr old Michael Owen scored that goal against Argentina. I went out today and bought all the snacks and 3 bottles of excellent shiraz. My 11yr old son's over from Australia after England's group stage...........Should we get through that is! Then we will watch together.

I will support Australia in every match, as it's my son's adopted country..... unless they play us! Who my son supports if that happened would be interesting.

If Scotland Ireland or Wales had qualified I would have supported them too!

As I've said before..........The only teams I'd hate to win are 'Henri's' France and Maradona's Argentina. For the same reason.

The US can most definitely beat England. I'm hopeful only of qualification over the 3 games..... and then let's see.

I'll be glad whatever the result when the Eng/US game has ended without mishap. It's just like those shits to target that game!!
