Subs-N-Suds Soi Yamato

Recommended Posts

Last time I was at Kinnaree Place, I got a bit hungry and asked if they had food. They gave me a takeout menu from Subs-N-Suds to look at.

I was amazed to see Philly Cheese Steaks on the menu, and since I had tried one from another restaurant the day before and was terribly disappointed, I thought I'd give theirs a try.

The cheese steak was delivered about 1/2 later, and it was delicious. That's one of those meals I never thought I'd have in Thailand, but this place does them quite well..nearly as good as my favorite PCS place in the USA.

Also on their menu are patty melts, english muffin with egg, canadian bacon and cheese, tex-mex chili, french dip, meatball subs, pastrami reuben...and many many more. I just showed the ones I'm going to be trying.

I'd never heard of this place till last week, have ordered from them 3 times, been satisfied every time. They've been around since at least 2008, because I found a post of theirs with the menu, on the secrets forum.

Their address is 219/20 Soi Yamato (13/1), and their delivery phone number is 038 414 280. I have it on speed dial! 24 Hour Free Delivery, btw.

Give them a try. I'd like to see them successful so I know they will stay in business and be there when I get hungry.

Been there a couple times since that time you had that sandwich MM... and they have great food.

Their Deli Roast Beef is identical to an Arbys Classic - very well cooked. And their french dip was awesome.

Do they have smoked or slow cooked beef brisket?

Not on the menu I have. Damn, they don't have peach cobbler either!

Now if we could get a shop to sell Philly hoagies................

Subway offers a pale imitation of a Philly hoagie.

Makes me hungry just looking at it! Thanks!

If you happen to stop in there, suggest to them they need to offer a braut like real men eat them. With sourkraut, nacho cheese, onions, jalepeno's, and mustard.

Okay, so what's a "braut"? In German, it appears to mean "bride", so you like them covered with nacho cheese and jalapenos? I can't believe she stayed with you after that.

BTW, I don't speak Iowa.

Short for Brautworst (sp?) The German sausage.

Oh, I see. You speak redneck. Not surprising really.

Or were you referring to this instead?

Braut-O

def. a. A gathering of many people in which the only reproductive organs in the room are bratwurst. Commonly known as the "Sausage Fest." b. A party in which no females are present, only horny males.

I was promised by my friend that he would have many bitches at his party. When i got there i was upset to see that it was just another Braut-O. It was the Braut-O of the year.

Keep your sausages out of my food topic.

  • 3 weeks later...

funny to see a post on this place. used to be the rainbow bar with rooms upstairs i stayed there in about 2005. I remember at the time the owner was from Oregon and was preparing to turn the place into "suds and subs" at that time. In the many intervening years i have walked passed maybe 100 times and never ever seen a customer in there. In fact i remarked to Leotex last week "imagine eating there...would be no stock rotation and would get sick for sure". anyway good to see it is getting a bit of a following after all all these years.

I went in there last week and there were 3 customers around 4pm. They get a lot of movement of food off their delivery service which is on Waiters-On-Wheels and their own delivery people. So, I'm not concerned about their stock rotation...so far.

The food ordered by phone arrives quite hot, even up in Pratumnak hill area, so they must have some fast drivers.

Incidentally, I just checked some sample prices from their menu and from WOW. Big difference. S&S charges 210 (delivered) for a French Dip, for example, and WOW charges 325. Be advised.

Wow indeed... so the 'save up to 40%' you see in the adverts is to be taken with a pinch of salt then... :clap2

By the way, just to complete this topic, after a decline in service hours this fall, Subs N Suds has closed its doors. The building is now for sale.
