EVA AIR ex Manchester

Recommended Posts

Strong rumour doing the rounds at Manchester Airport is EVA Air are looking at starting services from Manchester commencing April 2011. Also China Airlines are looking at Manchester for next year.

A non-stop would put a hefty APD increase onto the price of tickets compared to going via AMS (or even the middle east).

That was what I thought, however check this;

"For APD purposes connected flights are treated as one journey and APD is charged according to a passenger’s final destination irrespective of the number of flights that they take to reach this, provided the flights are connected."

Full details (and I do mean FULL) here;

HMRC website (scroll down to section 4)

I hope that it doesn't mean what it says, but it seems pretty clear.

Wow...... potentially one could pay a lot of APD on a ticket if you changed in London and Dubai to go on to Bangkok.

I am blaming this on the Labour ex-Governmemt......
