Displayed prices are for multiple nights. Check the site for price per night. I see hostels starting at 200b/day and hotels from 500b/day on agoda.

(Topic Diversion) I was going to post a trip report with some pics etc.... But I feel that would also spark a Pro/Con debate about Bar Girls Vs GoGo Girls etc, so I think I may give that a miss this time....

No Worries, Trip report section is flame free, so please do make the effort of posting one.

This is a zero tolerance flame-free zone. Nearly everyone appreciates a trip report, and some people are hesitant to submit them if they are likely to be flamed or criticized. If you do, you will be warned vigorously.

btw, good review on the new hotel :thumbup

You are correct, I was quoted 1200 Bht for a Delux Superior Room per night or 27000 Bht per month, 1000 Bht for a slightly smaller room ( didnt ask the monthly rate for this),

To also confirm.... Yes, this is my first trip, and I only have experience of one other hotel to compare this Hotel with (the Diana Inn :crying: ).

My point was not to sell D Apartment, but was to try and give to the forum information about a new Hotel that has not been listed with some details and pictures for members to be able to see, I'm only trying to help !!!.

IMHO, I am very happy with what I have found, and happy with the price I am paying, I guess I am a little lucky as for me price is not really an issue..... Obviously I like value for money, but it is not the first and only thing that drives me.

Comfort, service, attitude, staff friendliness, security, etc, all play an important part...

To clarify, I did not say that it was worth 2500 Bht by comparison to other places in Pattaya, What I said was that I would be happy to pay 2500 Bht per night for everything that I am getting from this hotel.... But I accept that we are not all the same (Thank God).

To summerise, lets just say..... I am not a Mini Driver more of a Rolls Royce type of guy.... (true, all cars willl get you from A to B.... I like quality and comfort, it may not be everybodies way... but for me.... this is the way I travel).... this holds true for my accomodation and the standard of my BF.... so far I am very happy with the ride. :D

Sorry mate, but that doesn't make sense. You didn't stay at a Rolls Royce place, by comfort, space or location. Wait until you stay at a top hotel suite until you say that. Maybe you stayed at a new mini place? :gulp

Thanks again for the report. Don't get upset if some don't agree with your newbie take on Pattaya accomodation prices. It's all for the good of fellow travellers. Thanks again :chogdee

Not my cup of tea, but still happy to keep looking for best value for money, taking all things into consideration.

Jamie, at least, he viewed the place and the facilities BEFORE he committed himself.

You booked yourself into a dump on Soi Baukhao, next to the Jabba Hut, and paid in full, without checking it out.

The A/C was useless, they would not give you the remote to control it.

Being directly on Soi Baukhao, it was a noisy as hell. and they would not give you a refund, when you wanted to move out

But it was only 15000, per month so that makes it ok. :D

Just for the record, Frogster, is a very good friend of mine, and, I happened to be passing the place on the opening day, checked it out, and took him to have a look for himself.

He liked the place, the location and the price, and promptly, moved from the Diana.

I had initially booked him into the Diana, opp Mike Shopping, for 3 nights, as a 'starter', as it his first time in Pattaya, and indeed Thailand.

With regard to the price he is paying, while it may not be realistic for long-stayers, I do know, he like his comforts, and is not short of a 'bob or two'. :chogdee

For those of you, that know the area, if you were on the steps of the LK Royal Suites, turn left, walk about 25 yards, and you will find a Bank and Dentist on the corner.

Also 3 or 4 Motor bike taxi lads.

Turn left, and walk down the Soi.

On the right, is the old. original 'D' Apartment.

Next to it, on the right, is the 'New' 'D'' Apartment/Hotel, which makes it confusing.

With regard to the R-Con hotel, Con is the correct word.

The rooms are dark and miserable, no Pool, TV, has about 4 Channels.

I had a room on the 6 or 7 floor, hardly used the A/C and was charged 3500 Baht, for 1 months usage of Elec and Water.

As, I had not checked the meters, I just had to pay up and look happy. :ang2

Where is this "JABBA HUT"? Is that another new "Bargain"?

Regarding the "R-Con" the TV has well over 50 Channels, the rooms at the front especially are bright & Cheerful,Please post FACTS and not mis-leading fiction as some members are guided by posts here,I usually get 601/701, and the Monthly rate is about 60% of D-Apartments even taking into account overpaying for Electricity due to being stupid enough not to check meter along with a staff member upon arrival!

There is no pool, so what, they don't say otherwise do they? Being as he is ysuch a good friend of yours, and not short of a bob or two, I.m somewhat surprised you initially booked the "Diana" for his 1st few days, as IMO it certainly is no more than 2 star lodgings!

They must have shares in the place.

I will give it a miss.

PBH usually appears at this stage!

Dear Sir,

Please accept my profound and humble apoligies, for refering to the Chaba Hut, as the Jabba Hut.

I take the liberty, of assuming that you know of the hotel, and its location?

As it is some 3/4 years since I stayed at the R-Con, I bow to your superior knowledge as to the fact they now have 50+ TV channels.

Maybe they got too many complaints?

As for being ripped off on the Elec and Water bills, yes once again I bow to your greater intelligence, and have learned, the error of my ways.

You do 'pay to learn' in Pattaya.

I did post on various forums, at the time, and other BM, confirmed that they too had been similaly ripped off.

Maybe they got too many complaints?

You say, you are somewhat surprised I booked him into the Diana.

If you have read and understood my post, I said 'I booked him into the Diana, as a 'STARTER', for 3 nights.

STARTER, meaning exactly that.

In my opinion, the Diana, is ideally situated, for a 'newbie', ie Beach Rd, Walking St, 2nd road, Soi Buakhao, Soi 6,7,8. etc, etc

I have not stayed at the Diana, for 3/4 years, and I will admit, the rooms are in need of an upgrade.

It was then, our intention, to look round for a hotel, more suitable to his needs, which we did, and he is very happy.

This is Pattaya

Your mate sounds thin skinned and huffy. I didn't see how I said anything wrong whatsoever, and he goes off threatening not to share a TR :thumbup

I'm just looking out for fellow BMs, not to book a spammed place for their holiday. I did suspect this was spam when it was in a non flaming section, by a guy with few posts, not mentioning it was his first stay in Pattaya accomodation, telling us he would pay 2,500 and calling it a Rolls Royce. However, posting his pic made me think it wasn't, so I never suggested it was. His review is welcome. But if he suggests prices of more than double what a place is worth, then he should expect comments like he got.

The Hollanda. And guess where I put the review of it?...................................In the review section :chogdee

And yes, I didn't look for the remote for the aircon until I moved in. Who does? I didn't mind the noise. I have stayed in Jasmine mansion in the front balcony rooms for up to 4 months at a time. So I knew about Buakaow noise and don't mind it. It was Skyslops deafening noise from the beer bars I didn't like. But yes, the Hollanda was a dog, and I told the owner and BMs.

any joy on a web site and email address ?

Hi ThaiLearner, I did ask about a website at the front desk the other day... I think (my interpretation of the reply is that they are in the process of haveing one designed, in fact I saw a chap taking some Photos, so that maybe was what he was doing).

I will ask again later when my BF arrives and we go out.... will keep you informed. No problem.

Obsession, I usually can't be arsed responding to a wanker.... but I will make an exception in this case.

For the record, I did not "threaten" to not share a trip report" (look up the definition of threaten in a dictionary)... I merely said I will give it a miss this time... for whatever reasons I feel, it is my prerogative if I post or not, I think!!

I do not "threaten" anyone, I see little point... if required, I act... the first they know about it is usually after they wake up.

I do take offence at your "thin skinned and huffy" comment and the way you try to miss quote me and put me down,… but, you are correct in saying I am a newbie, so maybe you being a dick-head is just the way you are with all newbies?

That said, I can't really see any point in continuing this, I think it's best that we best just agree to disagree, and leave it at that..... Unless you want to continue making it personal, and if that is the case I suggest you read the above again (very carefully).... and just to clarify... that's not a threat... just a friendly word of warning!

This discussion with you has ended as far as I am concerned... OK, mate !!!

Your out of order. I won't lower myself to your level. But it says all anyone needs to know about you, within 16 posts.

I never did see why you continued it, or why Ken did. I stated some facts regarding price and thanked you for the report. You didn't have to respond unless my post was innacurate. Which it wasn't.

If your going to threaten me over a forum post, then threaten me, and don't be such a pussy about it. Drop your school playground..................... "read the above again (very carefully).and just to clarify... that's not a threat... just a friendly word of warning".............and say what you want to say and don't hide your intentions behind such vague, infantile pish.

Hope your having/had a great time while you were in Pattaya.

Just a quick update,

Ausmagoo... yep thanks mate I had a brilliant time (see my avatar), infact, it was so darn good I am returning for another month Mid march to Mid April.

and for the record, I have booked back at the same Hotel. 27,000 Bht for the whole month water, electricity, daily service included.

When I called them to reserve the room, they told me that the price had gone up a little... 1,400 Bht a night for the top style of room, however, they still did me a deal and I got it at the old price :whistling:

See you all Mid March.... 8 weeks 6 days to go..... YES !!!!!! :clueless

But no WiFi in room I assume?

Hi ciecero1520,

There is wi-fi in the room, and a good signal and speed as well, on my last trip I managed video link from my laptop to home no problem every day. I saw there was a wireless router on each floor, so not a big contention ratio issue either.

They will give you a code to use to log on in your room, its free also, unlimeted access, but it times out after 15 mins if you leave the link up not being used, just need to re-enter the code.

There are also a couple of PC's in reception for guest use free of charge.

Hope that helps.... :whistling:
