Cheap Flights from USA in Feb and Mar

Recommended Posts

Found some flights on Air China for $762 roundtrip end of Feb early March. Much lower thant the $1200 that the airlines have been quoting. Found it on Kayak.

You have to be careful with Air China. Many times the cheapest rates won't be available for the dates a traveler is likely to want and when they are, they involve long, long stopovers in Beijing. I'm not saying it's impossible to grab a $762 r/t flight, but you'll be very lucky if the flight time is under 30 hours in one direction or the other.

I've found that Kayak shows cheapest flights for Air China, but when you click thru to the Air China site, the flight is either twice as expensive or not available. I've reported the problem to Kayak, and they acknowledge there is a problem.

The only way to be sure of the cheap flight is to try to actually book it, not just go on what Kayak says.

I went to Air China's website and tried to book the same days and it was listed at over $2000. The flight times were not bad , approx 20 hrs over and coming back to USA was about 24 hours. I did not try to book through one of the listed sites like Travelocity so cannot tell whether the flights were available or not. Waiting for some of the major carriers like Delta, Cathay or EVA to come down a little. Either way I plan on coming end of Feb early March.

Yeah, that's what I was talking about. I've done the other sites, and it usually says no flight of that type available...or it's really much higher than Kayak reported.
