WOW, that's a good price. I just checked it on Expedia, and the same flight is $847. I'd been checking Expedia for that route, and I don't recall one that cheap in a long time, nor do I recall seeing China Southern listed on Expedia.

Good find.

Huh? :whistling:

I haven't had a problem on Delta Air Lines either but the airline quoted in this thread is CHINA SOUTHERN,not China Airlines.

Nothing wrong with China Airlines, never had a problem with them.

It's typical for a former moddy to jump forums and threadfuck. :whistling:

I have flown China Southern within Asia, and I thought they were shite. I have heard their international flights to the West are good though.

They are out of Taiwan..... , but this flight is China Southern Airlines (CZ) is out of Guangzhou (or something like that). Perhaps a different kettle of fish!

Yes Jackie, they are two completely different airlines.

I wasn't impressed with them as well...
Yes I used them within China some years back, quite crap, but to be honest it was more about the behaviour of the other passengers than anything.

International may well be quite different.

I must agree Jackie. The way the Chinese act on flights is just DISGUSTING and RUDE! The fact that the airline does nothing to get them under control puts me right off.

Hacking up flem and spitting it on the floor of the plane.

Not taking their seat.

Trying to take someone elses seat and then getting into shouting matches.

Fucking kids running wild throughout the flight.

Running up the isles when the food and drink carts come out, because the fuckers can't wait their turn.

Yeah! What's that all about? They put their carry on in the first available compartment closest to the front. I have taken it out before, and put it in the aisle.

I nearly started a riot when I did that!

We entered from the rear and me and a few colleagues had the whole row and the bins were packed solid before we even got there.

Mind you, plenty of assholes in the USA try to grab the bins at the front, then sit further back to get a flying start when the plane stops.

I realize this is China Southern, not China Air. But I would not recommend China airlines to anybody. My return trip to the US was a disaster.

Sh-- happens. I have flown on CI (China Airlines) twice over to BKK (using DL miles) and it was fine. I do prefer EVA though.

China Southern might be one of the better mainland China airlines, but call me a skeptic. Once we here many posts saying that this is kool I would consider them. Not worth the risk for a few bucks.

I totally agree. I had the choice a couple years ago to fly round trip from Thailand to the Carribean, via NYC, between Cathay and some cheaper airlines. I played it safe and paid the extra 150-200 dollars for Cathay. A complete round trip disaster is not worth saving a couple hundred bucks.

Happy to. My connecting flight (SFO to TPE) ran an hour late arriving. They automatically put me on a much later flight but managed to run across the airport to make the proper connection. On the return BKK to TPE smoke came out of the engine closest to my window as we are backing out. Plane was towed back. 4 hours later I missed my connection and was delayed 24 hours in returning. This despite a half full EVA flight that left an hour into the breakdown for TPE and would have gotten the 16 of us to our connections in plenty of time. China Airlines stubbornly would not transfer us to the EVA flight despite EVA staff telling us they had room and an arrangement to do so with China Airlines. Needless to say, I booked EVA for my next trip in May. Better prices and only perfect service for me in the past.
