The whole penalty argument is a fiction of the imagination of ManU haters - all the stats confirm that, overall, they aren't awarded more penalties than the rest of the Premiership teams.

Hi,

Penalties aren't the whole story by any means. How often do you think players like Vidic and Scholes would get booked or sent off if they played for other teams ? I don't hate Man Utd BTW. I back them quite often and they have had some of the best teams and players in the history of the league.

Whats all the hype about?.   If you want to see real football teams play then check out great teams like Bayern Munich or Barcelona

Blackburn can. I thought it was hilarious, coming a few minutes after Sir Alex said he just wants to hang around another three years.   .

Hi,   I think the whole culture of football in England changed with the dawn of the Premiership/Sky era. Money and agents became the dominant forces. Other teams can win sometimes but how many times

How often? They played for other teams. You still won't tell us. Why not? It doesn't matter what we THINK. These are very public facts.

Some of your best friends are ManU. heh.

The biggest teams at the time always get the better decisions, many reasons I watched Arsenal as a season ticket for many years and I cringed when I saw the likes of Paul Durkin speak to the Roy Keanes and Dennis Bergkamp his attitude was different to less well known players, to say refs are not influenced and have favourites is not in question they are human.

Durkin who by the way went to the World Cup was the worst ref I had seen in my life, like a poor mod on an internet forum they are cringeworthy.

Was Durkin the ref when Man U put six past Arsenal? You shouldn't hold that against the guy. :thumbup

Paul Scholes is the most booked player in the history of the Premiership.

He is also the most booked player in the Champions League.

It would be hard to judge whether he could have received more had he played for another side, say a Sam Allardyce side.

I contend not...

Hi,

I think the whole culture of football in England changed with the dawn of the Premiership/Sky era. Money and agents became the dominant forces. Other teams can win sometimes but how many times do Man Utd get dodgy decisions/penalties when they look in trouble in a game ? I reckon for another team to win the Prem they need to be about 10 points better than Man Utd. The era when Clough could go to Derby or Nottingham and win the big one are over. Who wants Wigan to win it when they have no global following? Money and International sales of the "product" are the main drivers.

Your ranting mate. CT blew your claim out the water with the penalty stats he posted. Are you going to respond to it?

And you have always refused to answer how you think the hypothetical "fix" goes into the refs? Please explain. I have asked many times since last season.

Penalties aren't the whole story by any means.

Lol!!!It only took 8 posts before you attack them this year! I don't support them. But you had sussed that :thumbup

For instance Man Utd were in trouble against Aston Villa a few seasons ago and a few very questionable decisons went their way. It happens so often that is not even worth arguing about.

So often, you have to go back a few seasons!!!!! :allright

Are you suggesting that ManU players get some sort of favourable protection by refs? :clueless

Here's the number of yellow cards dished out .... it doesn't support your theory.

Not sure, the point is he was cringeworthy sucking up to the big players and dismissing the lesser knowns, all supporters disliked him he was a terrible ref and the worst sort, maye you should watch 300 live games then come back with and objective view rather than a daft supporters retort.

Still you can change to City if they win this year :whistling:

lol a booking, well that proves nothing maybe some should have been sent off ? Bigger players and more known get lattitude thats a fact more so if they are in one of the biggest teams.

Human nature is human nature, in many cases a booking can be the eay way out

Hi,

Man City stand on top of the Premiership after a good away win. Mancini has to teach his team to defend while still playing attacking football. Man Utd field a young team who get their usual 3 points against Spurs. Good performance. Chelsea seem the only London team able to challenge Liverpool and the Manchester teams this year.

Utd only had two players on that played in the Champions League final a couple of months ago. Fergie would come up with yet another great set of youngsters , that battered a quality Spurs team. It's made a mockery of the saying " men against boys" lol.

Hi,

Brilliant weekend for Manchester as City and United hammer their North London opponents. It looks like only Chelsea and Liverpool have any chance against them. Can King Kenny or AVB stop the Manchester teams ?

Arshavin should have been sent off twice!

Although Arsenal had players missing, so did Man U with 6 players out. Wenger hasn't built a competitive squad. And has now signed old Arteta and a 6' 6" centre back that they have needed for years. So much for him being a guy who brings through youth! It was always mainly a myth.

Chelsea have been lucky,imho.Very unimpressive.

Hi,

Seems a fight between Manchester clubs unless Chelsea raise their game. King Kenny is agreeing with wac. :clap2

http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2011/sep/11/liverpool-kenny-dalglish-strain

His ire is with the standard of refereeing in the Premier League, believing Liverpool have been victims of "contentious decisions" in every one of their fixtures so far. This was only enhanced at the weekend when Mark Clattenburg, the official in charge, awarded Stoke the penalty from which Jonathan Walters scored the game's only goal and denied Liverpool one of their own late on when Matthew Upson, stationed inside the host's area, appeared to block Luis Suárez's cross with his arm.

"We would like to be respectful to the referees but more importantly is them having respect for my club," said the Liverpool manager, "and if I feel we're suffering in any way, then I may need to go the same route as some others and see if I can gain some benefit from that."

As an ex Celtic player he is used to making up excuses about getting beat. They made a laughing stock out of themselves by being so paranoid and making ludicrous claims lol. The reason Liverpool got beat is that they didn't take their chances, end of. I didn't hear Kenny complain when Carragher stayed on the field last season after putting Nani out the game for weeks!

Man U , Bolton, as usual, Man U player injured and opposition players just can't seem to be sent off against Man U despite trying to kick them off the park.

Heard that Gyan mover from Sunderland. That puts them in the shit with the window shut.

Hi,

Dodgy refs aren't confined to Scotland.

http://www.wsc.co.uk/content/view/4412/29/

FC Porto and their charismatic president, Jorge Nuno Pinto da Costa, are accused of bribing match officials in two relatively meaningless league games during José Mourinho’s Champions League-winning season of 2003-04. On one occasion they allegedly provided prostitutes, code-named “fruit” and “coffee with milk”, on request. As with all the similar accusations in Apito Dourado, this has yet to be proven in a court of law, but the disciplinary committee of the league couldn’t wait; it borrowed the public prosecutor’s evidence, including thousands of tapped mobile-phone conversations, and came to its own conclusions: Pinto da Costa and, by extension, his club were guilty

You missed the point mate. There aren't any dodgy refs in Scotland. The UK is free from all that nonsense. I totally object to anyone tainting the British game through hatred or being a bad loser and will debate the point with them if they ever want to back up the rare mad claim lol.

Torres caught bad mouthing his team mates lol. Trying to blame them for his crap form!

I can't understand why VB subbed Sturridge instead of Torres last night. Torres couldn't get a shot on target and Sturridge was their only goal threat. Chelsea are a boring team to watch just now.

From the highlights, Arsenal were lucky not to get beat.

Looking forward to the Man U game tonight :thumbup

Hi,

Some very strange decisions by the officials, as usual, at Old Trafford as Man Utd beat Chelsea in an entertaining game. Man City slip up at the Cottage but stay in touch. Sunderland have a much needed win against an out of form Stoke. Tottenham beat Liverpool and Steve Keane has a much needed win against Arsenal.

Like Cole getting booked, but Man U not getting the penalty.

I'm starting to think youy are bonkers mate and there's no point talking with you. Man U have put 8 past Arsenal, 5 past Spurs and beaten Chelsea and Man City. And you still point to referees as being the reason they are successful :banghead None of Chelsea or Arsenal could get a game for Man U. Anyway. Pointless talking to you as your mind is made up. I am unsubscribing to this conspiracy bullshit.

Hi,

Kenny last week, AVB this week. If I'm bonkers I'm in good company.

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/teams/chelsea/8777912/Chelsea-coach-Andre-Villas-Boas-still-riled-by-sense-of-injustice-felt-over-officials-poor-show-at-Old-Trafford.html

Chelsea coach Andre Villas-Boas still riled by sense of injustice felt over officials' poor show at Old Trafford

Andre Villas-Boas’s frustration at Chelsea’s 3-1 defeat to Manchester United surfaced with the manager rounding on the match officials for a “poor performance” and failing “to do their jobs properly”.

Villas-Boas highlighted United’s first two goals, both scored by players in offside positions. Chris Smalling’s header, the first, from a free kick caused particular annoyance. “I cannot lose my time organising defensive set-plays for the referee to make a mistake like that,” he said.

“I’m sorry, I don’t take it lightly. You organise your team to defend a set-play, to be coherent, to hold the line — and then it’s not possible because the person responsible doesn’t do his job.” The men who provoked his anger were referee Phil Dowd and his assistants Glenn Turner and Adam Watts who Villas-Boas accused of having a “poor performance which in the end had a decisive role in the result”.

Hi,

A good weekend for the top teams as all win, with the exception of Man Utd, who get a good point at Stoke. I dont think many teams will get any more at an improving Stoke City. Bolton are under presssure after losing at Arsenal. Man City struggle to beat Everton who are hard to break down when they are set up in a defensive manner. Chelsea seems the cockneys best hope although Tottenham have a good win as well.
