Since (and perhaps because of) the floods, I haven't been able to find Scotchbrite microfibre absorbent cloths in 7/11s, Family Marts, Tops, Big C, etc. You know, the cloths that are sold in packs of two, generally in orange, yellow or green colours, 30 x 32 cm. square. I find them very useful for kitchen and bathroom cleaning. My old ones are getting really worn and it's time to replace. I can't find them, or anything similar. Anybody got any ideas where I might find them. Are they out of production, permanently or temporarily? I see on a Google search that they are available on line but not apparently in Thailand.

Pretty sure 3M makes them in Thailand. Must be a supply problem. Sorry I can't actually help, but a trip to Bangkok would certainly yield you as many as you want. I have no idea why, but my wife bought some yesterday to take to the US!! At least they're light.

Thanks, Joe. Could you ask her where she bought them. I don't mind a trip to Bangkok. Gives me something to do, and i enjoy the city.

Not trying to thread fuck but there are some strange things missing from the shelves - e.g. I haven't been able to find tonic water nor kitchen towels in shops for the last 4 days.

She's on an airplane, but she usually shops along Sri Nakarin - Paradise (ex-Seri) and Seacon mostly. But if she couldn't find them somewhere, I'm sure she would have mentioned it. I think you're in a regional black hole - still lots of those since the floods, just getting supply lines back in shape.

Yes also Pepsi has gone missing, perhaps same supplier as Tonic Water ?

I almost cried yesterday at Friendship as I checked the yet again empty shelf where the tonic used to be.

I got to the checkout to find the guy in front of me had about 10 to 12 cans of tonic in his basket !

cheers rogero :beer :beer :beer

Small world.... they went on my list yesterday (I normally buy a dozen so need them infrequently).

Yes in Pattaya some items are sporadic and it can be frustrating coming out of shops without items and wondering whether traipsing off to another place will bear fruit. I stumbled on tonics the other day (BigC X) after looking for a bit but couldn't find small containers of coconut milk.

Perhaps the Bangkok shops are being restocked better despite many of their residents beinjg here!

Gee, it would sure be a surprise to find that Bangkok got preferential treatment.

The floods are 95% over, jacko. There are some very damaged areas, but there's nothing left of the floods.

Good, then why are the shelves in Pattaya not back to normal then clever-clogs?

Are you denying that there are plenty Bangkok residents here on this holiday or just venting gas?

Back to OP, Foodland on Klang, Tesco on Nua. Mind you I bought a chunk of them!

Those are my only two choices? You still beating the old la... your lovely companion, jacko?

Were you denying this is a holiday weekend? Or were you just thrilled to get a chance to get the boots into SOMEONE on Monday morning, and I was handy for you? No other choices, jacko, that's the way this binary stuff works, right?

But no, jacko. If I'd meant that, I could have written that -- you demonstrate just how easy it is to write. Me? I just meant what I wrote, pretty much, that any Bangkokians that are there today, aren't there because of the floods in their homes or businesses, because there aren't any remaining floods in Bangkok homes or businesses to speak of -- not enough that would allow you to notice the numbers of "refugees".

Since you prolong this really simple point, I mention out that in December, Pattaya is a BIG favourite of Bangkokians for the three (or four for many) long weekends they get. Nothing to do with floods, that.

Also I meant what I wrote about the Scotchbrite situation, that there are still some black holes in the supply chain. Also I pretty much meant what I *implied* so slyly, but to put it more starkly for yuz: Whenever possible, selling and supplying stuff to Bangkok takes precedence over supplying any other place or region -- "all roads lead to Bangkok", as they say, after all, not to mention all those yummy Bangkok consumers, tourists, and nosy media ready to give Bangkok and the 3M company a black eye if the city runs out of Scotchbrite, quelle horreur!

I have never laid a finger on her, noxious of you to suggest otherwise when you know little of me.

I did not ask you to initialte your shit with me yesterday, but you did, as usual. Perhaps you are the one missing the Mrs.

I posted where I saw required items in Pattaya.

Other than that, go fuck yourself.

I've got to agree with jacko. I went to BigC Extra and couldn't find any normal clogs, no matter clever ones, on the shelves. Same, same at the BBQ section, lots of butane gas, but no sign of the venting stuff. It must all be getting sent to Pattani, I guess. :ninja:
