Excuse me, I am neither a bar nor bar owner, I am in fact just a customer I like to think of myself as a good customer though, my link with the bar is my sister in law works there

Furthermore I like Ricky's curry's so will be in the bar on Tuesday for their curry night, don't expect to see my sister in law tomorrow night though as it's her day off

Given half the chance I would buy into the bar if I could, in these lean times they seem to do quite a lot better than other more established bars I go to

I was in on i think the 19th or 20th Nov, it was busy and had a good party atmosphere.

 

I knew one of the girls that used to work in The Windmill and as soon as she saw me that was her perched on my knee followed by 2 of her friends.

 

I bought them all a drink and was having some fun, then some old guy started whinging about me having all the girls cos i had money (bought 3 drinks)

 

Basically he was a tight misserable old git, (hope he's reading this) i just laughed, bar fined my friend, she insisted i waited 10 mins so it was after 1.30 and so 300 baht.

 

I quite liked it in there and will be back next trip.

Dropped in last night. It was curryi night. When the food was on there was a mad rush. I had company at the time so waited a while. 15 minutes later I went out and there was only chilli con carn left. Rice ,yellow curry and rogan josh were gone. The chilli con carn was excellent.

It's not specific to this agogo. I witnessed mad rush and rude selfish attitude

in all places who have periodic free food: BabyDolls, Private Dancer, Secrets...

and even in the recent Sapphire Birthday party too.

It's a shame to see how some farangs behave when there is free food

Always amusing to see some punters pile there plates up like it's the Last Supper. Utterly shameless about it, too.

 

Some bars introduced a "seeding" system giving food preference to those on the top table just to piss off the balloon chasers.

 

You could imagine the looks from the Cheap Charlies knowing they had missed the jump at the the start of the "race."

I had the same experience too, the bar was rammed, when the free food was announced over the mic, half the gogo got up to get their food, and the queue stretched back into the bar, I waited 10 mins and when I got out, both curries and the rice had finished, only chilli left but there was a guy behind be trying to hurry me up as he wanted seconds

I expect he was one of the balloon chasers who nurse a glass of draft until the food comes out, eats and leaves and only give the service a minimal tip, the guy sat next to me left 5 baht (cheeky cooont)

Yes we were actually thinking about doing something like this but just not sure how pratical it would be to enforce such a system.

One system that seems to work well at some venues is the food is free as long as you spend XXX in the bar. A food chit for XXX goes into diner's tabs and removed once the total goes over XXX.

Yes, I had that thought. A ticket for the buffet when your tab reaches 200 baht, or no tickets for draft drinkers!

I think that's Kinaree (or one of the other daytime gentlemen clubs?) who uses this system of ticket for buffet access that you get when you bill reach 150 or 180 (?), a little more than 2 drinks.

 

I remember once a place where the first round at the buffet was made by the service ladies who bring some food to each customers tables. Only when every table has been served the buffet has been opened to customers. Not a bad solution I think. (I hate to be in this kind of rush...)

Perhaps a service girl can come around with a bowl/plate of food and try to get the punter to get a drink with it at the same time?

 

Or, she could ask if you wanted a bowl of chili and then bring it to the punter as a way to keep the balloon chasers in check?

 

If there then seems to be extra a free for all would be allowed.
