Its at the corner of soi 17 & soi yensabai, always moto taxi's at the corner under a tin shack!

I would say 150 meters to a B-bus route.

Great Hotel.......if the location was better, rooms would be twice the price.

sinbinjack.

I checked out the konieg last August, nice clean hotel , new, German operated but a longway away from the action, you can read the other reports but it is not as close as some people make out. I used a motor bike to get there ok!.

I'll be staying at Koenig in a few weeks, sounds like a deal!

If you can't walk too far Sabai Lodge, Sabai Inn or Welkom Inn might be a good choice cause empty baht bus often turns around on soi 2 so you don't have to walk at all catching the bus.  Returning you get off at 2nd Road and the walk is all downhill, maybe a minute walk.

i thought it was to good to be true but at the price i may still book it as its only 500 a day over 21days and as long as i can get taxis it will be quiet at least unless you know different jack

isnt the white rose the one the TG's arent keen on coz of the ghosty thing???

Don't know.  I'm talking about the place that's near the Koenig and is a little over a year old, I think I saw another place called the White Rose across from the VC hotel.

sinbibjack,

Koenig is a great friendly no hassles spotless hotel at a very reasonable price. Food there is excellent too. However it would not be really suitable for you unless you were prepared to use the motorbike taxis (available right outside the hotel)rather than baht bus. It sounds like the motorbikes could be a better form of transport for you anyway as they can drop you right at the door of the place you are going to. Even if you were elsewhere and used baht bus it is a fair hike up Walking St to get to places like FLB and the bikes would get you a lot closer.

Good Luck

partyanimal,

I stayed there this past February and my guess is it's more than 200 yards but less than 300 from Phratamnak Rd which becomes 2nd Rd at South Pattaya Rd.  I didn't mind the walk and the GGG's that I took back from Walking St didn't complain.

H,

I asked the GGG's if they wanted to take a motorbike and they declined as I have no problem forking out 20 baht if they want to ride.  However I will make the walk everytime as I need the exercise and after traveling 1/2 around the world I will not risk any downtime in Pattaya due to a motorbike accident.  I only wear T-Shirts, shorts and sandals and when skin meets asphalt, asphalt always wins.

Never had a problem with Motorbike taxis (touching as much wood as i can!).......though i have told them to slow down a few times and don't take them durring songkram (sp?)

Baht bus form PattayaLand soi2 about 60Baht.......120 if you DON'T haggle

Though walking is good .........go up Pattaya Tai (grab some food) cut through Soi Hollywood diso pick a Freelancer then back to the Hotel on SOI yensabai  ;D

"If you like Koenig's location, check out White Rose and Marine Yensabai Mansion's both located on the same Soi and a little closer to the action."

Does anyone have contact information for either the White Rose (near Koenig Mansion) or Marine Yensabai Mansion?  Thanks.
