Witherspoons serves rancid food

Recommended Posts

Was out the other night with my friend and his tilak and we deiced to catch the West Ham-Liverpool game live at Witherspoon's on soi Buakhao. We all had a beer and decided to peruse the menu but nothing stood out. Tilak goes to the ladies and we order another round. Upon returning, tilak is miffed as she hadn't finished her first beer but oh, well. I then needed something more solid than a barley sandwich so I ordered an appetizer with spring-rolls, chicken wings etc etc. 12-15 min later a plate arrived looking all wondrous and tasty and it was way too fookin hot to eat which is how it should be. The spring-rolls were decent but the first bite into a chicken wing sent me spinning and I spat out what I had bitten off. It was rancid. Tilak looked at the plate and sampled the bone and called over the girl. Girl then sniffs the wing and rushes off with our plate. Fookin' hell, I'm not seeing this. I didn't utter a word of my own and everyone was rushing around dooin' stuff. This aint Thailand, this is the Outer Limits. Then reality returned as within 90 seconds my plate was returned without wings and in their stead was an ice cold mystery chicken piece that must've been from a kitchen foul-up earlier in the day. Btw, Hammers "won" nil-nil.

I've had bad food in Pattaya on occasion. I'm not sure if they were trying to poison me or whether they sere just serving rotten food. I've never written about it, though. With my luck, the owner would put out a contract on my life.

I just avoid the places in the future.

This is the time of year food can be risky, even in Thailand.

I even had some so-called fresh pineapple that didn't taste right..... seemed to have been sweetened with sugar.

Made me feel unwell.

On questioning the TGF she had bought it ready peeled in a plastic bag... I suggested it had been in the plastic bag, and the sun, for a little too long!
