Some Photos: Soi Cowboy Last Night

Using the Image > Adjustments > Variations command in Photoshop makes it very easy to achieve a quick fix to remove a colour cast.

You have very limited possiblities if using the presets, like these are a bit too green. Go to levels and play with red/green/blue highlights and midrange colors. You can do wonders but of course it's all easy in raw.

Purchased a fast prime lens yesterday and was trying it out on Soi Cowboy last night.

I'll get better with more practice. It's not easy to get candid shots without the telephoto, then I can't get sharp images because a slower shutter speed is needed to emit enough light. Also, I'm th

Bought a new camera strap yesterday, the sling type. Was out in the field testing it.

Soi Cowboy GoGos are expensive for drinking, some places now charging 180-200 baht, but there are happy hours for Suzy Wongs, Dollhouse, Tilac, and Sharks. Bar fines and short time are in line with the better Pattaya GoGos.

I see the lens is warping the length of some of those "skirts". Shocking!

There are telephoto, wide angle, macro, normal, etc lenses. You have seen a prime example of the rarest of rare - the short angle lens. With modern computerized cameras, over time, we should be able to see the promised land.

May it be in my lifetime!

It's quite a different scene now. All the Arab's bars were closed again last night, not so much neon. Baccara, Sharks, and Crazy House are open for business, these taken around 9:30 or so, the day after the coup.

Thanks for the pics RhinoTusk, they're great. Some of the welcome girls have that look towards the camera of, oh no, another guy taking my picture  Oh well, they'll find out it comes with the job

Is the bloke in the blue shirt,in the second photo of post #34,just playing up to the camera,or trying to usher you away?

I've noticed it's getting increasingly hostile on the street if you point a chunky camera at the hello girls, but they don't bat an eyelid if you use a camera phone or a tablet.

Camera phoneor tablet of course don't produce that quality and resolution. A full frame may be a little better, but even bigger and more likely to be spotted. Maybe one of the smaller mirror less cameras would be easier to escape detection.

I use a Fuji X100s fixed 35 mm equivalent, which because of its small size doesn't get taken srious by many people. Yet low light capacity is equal to my bulky 5 D Mk II ....

Nice to see so many good looking available girls.

To be honest most of the girls in the pictures are coyotes working at the Arab's bars, and if they are available be prepared to pay a premium price!

Plahgat

PS great pictures as usual, if i try to walk up to the girls that close with my camera they'll turn their backs immediately!

I take it you sit at one of the outside bars and use your camera with discretion!?

I used a telephoto lens and went to the Sunday matinee at Baccara today, around 6 PM, third day after the coup. All the Arab's bars still closed except for Deja Vu, which always seems to have great looking Welcome Girls.
