Snakes in a bottle ?

I`m due to arrive in 13 days time. A bar owner friend as ask me if I can find a bottle of whisky with a snake in it(!). Apparently an old merchant seaman had bought one back from Thailand many years ago and my mate wants one as a novelty for his bar. Does anyone know if these are available and where I might find one ?

Never seen one in Thailand but for sale on every street corner in Laos.

Chinese orientated medicine shops are the places to look for in Thailand. There was one in Nakhlua a few years back selling various reptile/insect cocktails but I have not been there for a long time now, so cannot confirm current availability. Yaowarat Road in Bangkok also had many places selling the stuff.

I have seen snake / scorpion whiskey in one of the Bangkok malls..this was a few years back .....cannot remember which one but definitely not Paragon.

I have only ever seen these in Laos and China.
