A photo tour of Ha Long Bay, Vietnam

Recommended Posts

Ha Long Bay.
Dont let the guides or brochures fool you into believing its only a 2 hour journey from Hanoi, it is actually a 4 hour drive each way.
I let the owner of the hotel i was staying in Hanoi talk me into a 2 day/1 night stay in Ha Long Bay, and after this trip, i was really glad that i allowed him to do this. I ended up booking with Legacy cruises, with a cost of $130 per person, but seeing as i was travelling alone, i had to pay an extra $30 single supp charge. Now, it might seem expensive, but honestly, this had to of been the best £100 i have ever spent on any holiday anywhere. Great little rooms on the boat, and very well fed from start to finish of the trip. The crew even catering to my seafood allergy with extra chicken and pork at every meal time.
A very highly recommended 2 day trip, i cant praise the crew and the boat enough.
Photos taken by myself early June 2014.
Lots and lots of photos on this thread, and still not enough to do this place justice to its beauty.

If you're flexible, wait until you get there to book a trip. I got a full day trip with sole use of a boat, heaps of food, a driver and tour guide from Hanoi, all for around $120 for the two of us, although that was a few years ago. Don't spend a fortune on those western chain big hotels either. Plenty of good places around for near peanuts right in the centre of old Hanoi.
