We got to my Soi and the meter said 80Bt, don't know what it would of been it I didn't say anything. Beware if the meter turns every 30 seconds.

I would be interested to know what the standard metered fare is these days..... I did hear it had gone up.

I recall it should start at 35 baht for the first 2km then 5 baht per km.

Your guy was doing well at 1km/30 sec.... 120 kph! :D

Hi

I think this topic should be in "Transport in Thailand"; it's not Pattaya relative.

In Pattaya you don't have this problem: they usually refuse to use their meter.

Hard luck but well done its about the best an only thing you could have done was placed it on here and any other social media site relating to Pattaya . There are all sorts of cons going on there from the 1000 bht offer then its a taxi out of the airport to a nearby park and change over and on to Pattaya was one I had recently as I was too late for the bus. Bus I think is still 134bht from airport to Pattaya.

There is a number you can call and make a complaint too, presuming it to be an official meter taxi.

It is normally listed inside the vehicle.

My TGF got onto that number and had a right go at them.

Waste of time but it makes you feel better.

I remember one time in Bangkok, getting in a cab during rush hour. After sitting in the cab for a while, I kept wondering why the meter wasn't moving. For a long time, I thought the meter was broken. Finally, it flipped over to add some more baht. I finally got where I was going, but I sure as hell did feel sorry for the cab driver. The same thing once happened on a trip from the airport to the Nana area. The driver used the meter and the final cost was 175 baht. Seemed like a long trip for only 175 baht.

Anyway, there are honest cab drivers out there.
