Smells very fishy to me. Yes, it smells like a time share scam.

If I were in-country now I would go just to see what it's all about. I hope someone will attend and report back what it is all about. Really.

Well put Nightrider.

Oh, and we all know how reliable and efficient the Thai postal service can be when it comes to sending cash anywhere, if, that is, anyone is stupid enough to do so.

Something like this was mentioned at the Expats Club some months back. At that time they were being more selective..........

Sure, one has to be suspicious, and in this country the protections are limited.

(You have won a valuable prize sir, a free week in one of our properties, $100 administration charge!!! :D)

But seriously, if it is being held in a public place, short of them hitting you over the head, what do you have to lose?

My brother in law has a time share and he and my sister love it. He admits that with all the yearly fees that he could rent a decent hotel room but he says that he is assured of a very nice place and no hassles. It's not a scheme for Cheap Charlies because you will not save any money. I should add that he is a chemical engineer for BP and is quite well off. He says his time share company is a good one with properties all over the world. A couple years ago they stayed at one in Phuket.

One and a half hours of my time. A pleasant discussion about how I came to be living in LOS. Accent on banking with no accounts or values mentioned. Just my opinions on, for instance, would I consider changing to another bank if they offered such and such.. Genuine market research on a very friendly basis.
