I did my renewal last month. Color blind test, and depth perception. The reaction test pedal was broken so that one was skipped. That was it. Pay money, take photo then renewed temporary 1 year licenses issued.

Oh, same as before, doctors certificate, residency certificate, passport photo page & visa page copy. Copies of front and back of his current thai licenses. He should be good to go. 1 to 3 hours at the transport centre.

Tell your friend to check if his travel insurance covers riding a scooter or a bike in Thailand. My insurance only allows me to ride bikes up 200 cc. Should I have an accident driving a car or riding a bike, I will not be covered if I am under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

The last time I was in Pattaya I got both my car and bike licence , unfortunately that was almost 5 years ago so My 1 year licence has run out . does anyone know if I can get a 5 year licence next Spring or must I get another 1 year licence. I will probably be on a 60 day visa.

I believe you are required to have a Non-Imm Visa to obtain a 5 year licence.

I used to come on a 90 day "o" visa but I don't think they do those any longer . If they do is that enough to get my 5 year licence.
