Jet ski scam

Just witnessed the jet ski scam this afternoon in pattaya bay , 5 big lads bodybuilding types, just finished their jet ski rides , and a bunch of Thai guys demanding money for the suppose damage to the front of one of them .

Two Thai police came on motorbikes to add to the Thai numbers , they were asked to pay 45,000 baht for the supposed damage !

Didn't hang around to see the outcome, be careful out there.

Well, our mayor, whose father is known as "the godfather of Chonburi", says there is no mafia in Pattaya!

Where they police or city hall officials? Similar uniform. Brown, but police will carry a gun. If city hall, they have no powers of arrest. But may call police to assist.

I did send an e mail to the home office suggesting that on there site warning tourists visiting Thailand about dangers that they told tourists to avoid using jet skis.The response I got was that they were not aware of any particular problem with renting jet skis and they would not be warning tourists of any dangers of being ripped off.
