I'm not sure... it says november 7-8, but some rumours, it will be in every saturday, sunday. They build the environment at least 2-3 weeks.

I bet it is a lot of fun for the residents!

Where exactly is it, on that patch of spare land?

I have a friend living in one of the buildings and will ask him if there is any impact.

On the west side of Thappraya slightly south of VT5.

Any impact on traffic at the busy Thrappaya/Threppasit junction and the Thrappaya/Jomtiem 2nd lights?

I hate these things as they are often located centrally and make getting around an absolute nightmare.

Didn't make it up to the Thepprasit intersection last night. Traffic was massively backed up along Thappraya. One of the problems of running a market there consistently would be lack of parking. VT security was turning away a lot of cars driven by nonresidents.

I did chat with a resident yesterday who had visited the market.

He said it was pretty good and not the usual plastic-crap and T-shirts rubbish we often see.

The noise didn't affect him as his condo is on the far side to the event, and since he could walk there parking and traffic didn't either.

Personally not my thing though.

  • 1 month later...

It appears there will be another concert and night market this Friday and Saturday--12 and 13 December--at the same location. Combined with high season evening traffic, it should be really interesting. If you are going to Jomtien for some other reason, you probably don't want to go via Thrapprya.
