Hello!

I am a 60 years young, recently retired Canadian small business owner whose landed here since September. I'm trying to find some sort of community or just buddies that like to do things aside from beer bars,....... I hike , go to the gym, travel, like a drink, am intelligent and enjoy debate on most everything. I'm independent, and have mobility.

I guess I'm saying I'm looking for friends who enjoy moderation. Anyone out there who wants to expand their circles, and social interests. Get to know an interesting Canuck let me know, as its hard to find like minded people in this "transient-type" of town.

Thanks for the time. David line id: ready2bme

If you're not really a bar person the easiest way to meet people is where you decide to stay so opt for a hotel or a guest house rather than a house or some out of the way condo where there is very little personal interaction. It's as easy to get chatting to people round a hotel swimming pool as it is sitting in a bar.

Over the years I've met many falangs in my hotel. Some have become firm friends and some of those friendships have endured for years and we keep in touch back in Falangland. I've met up with quite a few Pattaya chums in London and keep in touch with others from all over the place by phone, Skype, Line or email. Sadly several of them have now passed on and I've attended funerals of old pals I've met in the LOS in both England and Pattaya. Others over the years have just stopped coming due to financial or health reasons.

One of my friends is a dustman from Rochdale in the North of England and another is an ex army officer who went to a well known British public school and was a tank commander in the Korean War. You can meet all sorts in Pattaya who've wound up there for a variety of reasons.

Same is true here as it is any country, do the things you like to do and you'll easily meet and begin to hang out with those that share the same interests.

As it sounds like you lead a fairly active lifestyle, you might want to consider coming to one of the local Hash House Harrier runs (walkers too, so don't let the running part put you off if you're not into running). The PH3 meets every Monday, and the Pattaya Jungle H3 on Sunday every two weeks. I'm partial to the Jungle as they do a lot more besides the hash runs every two weeks. Check out the links provided to see if this might interest you.

Nah Jacko goes there!

Yes I do, and I belive you have done so too!

I actually think this is a good suggestion, or the other one, Pattaya City Expats Club.

There are some good eggs go to these clubs, and many seem to have their heads screwed on, I know some from there who have known the same lady for over a year and still own their own condo!
