Bloody hell, was just going to put up some prices I searched out in August / Sept the other day only to find the EVA website is down at the moment.

Anyway if anyone is interested, EVA prices for 1 adult in Economy for travel in Sept is coming in at GPB425 on their website with certain ticketing restrictions (book by June fly before Dec) . Elite class is around GBP830.

The Thai equivalent is between GBP520 and GBP834 depending upon your ticketing option the difference being that there's a 30kg allowance on Thai whereas EVA is 20 unless you go through Southall travel I believe.

**Edit the website is fine, but doesn't want to work in my version of safari.

Thai Airways have just released their special offers - flights from UK at @ £425 - this is just a week after me booking and paying over £200 more! Bastards!

Business class @ £1700-ish

It is discouraging that Thai Air has given up west coast routes. I am not sure if they fly to the USA at all any more. Still, there are plenty of others flying there.

EVA I believe is the only one that gets you to Swampy by late morning. All others land at night I believe. At least from our west coast.

The problem I have with morning arrivals is that if you get there too early, the hotel wants to charge you extra to check in early. For example, I once took a non-stop flight from LAX and got into BKK early in the morning. I got to my hotel too early for the day's check in, so I hd to pay an extra 800 baht, just to check in early. For flights arrive late at night, I usually have a room already booked and paid for. Just show up at the hotel and go to bed.

I don't mind as I need to sleep. From the time I left home until I arrive at the hotel is basically a full day with just a tiny bit of sleep. When I was working, I often worked the day I went to the airport as well.

It can be an ordeal.

Hi,

Just an update, EVA now offer 30kg baggage via any fares booked on their website. Just picked 2 random dates in Sept / Oct midweek flights, Sept is coming in at £465 and Oct at £441 both economy class fares with no mileage accruel, £25 to change ticket and £100 to refund.

Elite class varies between £865 and £880.

The problem when i flew Eva last year was they ran out of beer within 30 mins of the flight leaving. I hope that's rectified now. Holiday starts at the airport and 4 or 5 cans during the flight is a must
