Good booking sites to use for US visitors?

Recommended Posts

A friend in the US has asked me to recommend a website to find cheap deal to Thailand.

I'm in the UK and usually use ebookers, expedia, google flights or lastminute.com. I'm assuming lastminute and ebookers are UK centric so won't mention them?

Any others good sites for US customers? Not sure which airlines to recommend. He'll be coming from Florida. i've warned him about a looooong flight! :hairout

When I read last minute that reminded me of Latestays: http://www.latestays.com

I haven't looked at it in a while, but it used to have some good deals for Thailand. Last minute type bookings.

As for a cheap "deal" to Thailand, I've never looked for an all-inclusive deal. Probably the smart thing to do would be to look for a cheap flight. One he gets to Thailand, the rest can be sorted out economically. Maybe pre-book just the first night or two.

which of those sites have you used, how often and have you ever had a problem with any of them?

Instead of trying to pick holes in his recommendations, why don't you post something positive, like your own recommendations? That would be more useful to the OP than your sniping.

I was looking at the sites online and was curious of his experiences with them.

one site gave me a bunch of popups. That concerned me.

My question was sincere. It is a fair question to ask. It was not an attack.

I could list sites too without having any actual experience. I would not do that. I want to know the reputation of a site before I use it.

I would still like to know if any members have experience with these sites and if so how do they rate it.

Do you see something wrong with that?

I just had a new HVAC system installed in my home. Neighbors are asking me about my experience with the company that installed it and the cost. There is nothing different in my question here.

I've used all of these sites. I like Travelzoo the best. They are a clearing house for many travel related sites. I've never had a problem with any of them. Like life your mileage may vary.

I've used Agoda.com for hotels in Thailand. No problems. I also once used the Priceline Hong Kong site for hotels in Bangkok. I'm not sure if that site is still around, but again, no problems, and I got some good deals.

Thank you. I just want to be prudent. It was not intended as an attack.

Popped up while I was responding to BigDUSA.

I also have used Agoda and Expedia with no problems.

If you want to help the forum (e.g. me) with the running costs, please use the AGODA link in the open section.

The forum gets a small commission on each booking, and since all costs are out of my pocket, it helps!
