Looking at EVA flights from Amsterdam.Premium economy basic, the Amsterdam-Bangkok leg €889, for that leg,but you still have to pay extra to choose a seat. FFS.I am looking to come for 28-30 days for the whole of February roughly. If I book for 40 days from roughly 20 January and the whole of February the flights are cheaper. The gulf/Turkish airlines are starting at €880 via the airlines, agents are cheaper.

I'm currently thinking of booking a 3 week trip flying out to Thailand on 26th September and MAN-BKK currently about £900 return with Qatar for my dates, and that's with 25KG going and 30KG coming back....

I've just had a look at Etihad €750 Amsterdam -Bangkok.With 25kg and choose seats when you book. Its a good deal, only down side is they arrive Bangkok after 18:30.Direct with KLM is €1200+ with luggage and choose seats at booking.Arrive at 10:00,they also do a flight that arrives at 07:00.KLM is a surprisingly good price because of the choice of seats,I need a middle aisle seat.€1200+ V €750 is a big difference between a direct flight and a stopover.Though I will be 75 in two weeks so the direct flight is very tempting.

I have broadened the dates of a possible visit.February is still the high season with very high fares.Leave November 15 return 14 December direct flights with KLM,no luggage or seat choice is a very reasonable €783, haven't seen that price since COVID.

Not sure what you're looking at there, Leaving 26/09 for 3 weeks Manchester

Gulf is £561

Qatar is £678

Checked bags are 25kgs for both cant imagine Qatar going to £900 for 5 KG more

Seeing as I mentioned above great pricing on Gulf as 6 month round tickets (somewhat more expensive normally) are around £510 if you travel out of Gatwick....Heathrow about £25 more

No idea why anyone thought above price was funny in previous post......must enjoy paying more than necessary lol

Don't worry, he's quite prolific in posting emojis which don't relate to the post, but more against the poster. He hides behind the anonymity of them, although mods can see who posts them. He's had previous warnings about it, maybe time for another one.

Watching the NYC - BKK prices falling slowly but steadily.  Can now be done in cattle class for under US$1K round trip.

Interestingly, the best VFM in my opinion at this point is Singapore Airlines Premium Economy.  These can be had for under US$1,700 on the date ranges I'm looking at.

~19 hours NYC - SIN, 1:10 layover in Singapore, then 2:30 to Bangkok.

I did the now-defunct NYC - BKK nonstop, and for me it was survivable.  YMMV.

I am not sure how relevant this topic is. You can be almost 100% sure that prices will be dropping if you book or enquire for sometime in 2027. As far as I can see from my part of the globe there are no serious reductions within the next two or three months. In addition to this, I realise that I am not the only person who needs to book a feeder flight from a regional airport, to their main international airport.  So many of these flights have been cancelled and consolidated over the past three months (As are a number of international flights) and the prices increased substantially.

The reality is that there will always be specials, but overall prices will stay elevated for as long as the waffling is going on in the Middle East. It will take months for oil reserves to be replaced and prices and supplies to get back to some sort of normality, if they ever do. As a result of all of this I am expecting to pay at least 30% more that earlier this year if I chose to fly again in 2026.

The departure times for the cheaper Qatar flight options aren't ideal for us due to our connection in Bangkok, and also I don't book the lowest fare bracket for the flights coming back cos I know we'll have 30Kg in each suitcase. I also like pre-booking seats, so even at the lower fare level it adds on to the cost.

Been flying with Qatar for 10 years now and more than happy to stick with them, especially with the frequent flyer perks we get.
