If you had to choose one song that summed up your experience of Pattaya, what would it be? The old Andy Williams number "Butterfly" comes to mind, and I seem to hear The Eagles' "Desperado" everywhere I go, but for me it would have to be The Shirelles' "Will you love me tomorrow?" You know the one- "Tonight you're mine completely/You give your love so sweetly/Tonight the light of love is in your eyes/But will you love me tomorrow?" <_>

Donno who did it, but I think it's called "Wasting away in Maguerita Ville" All about a guy trying to drink away his last relationship. The setting is Mexicio, but it would suit Pattaya to a tee.

"Some people claim, threre's a woman to blame, but I know -it's my own damn fault."

Just remembered one of my fave' lines-

Got nothing to show 'sept this brand new tattoo,

It's a real beauty, a Mexican Cutie'

Just how it got there I havn't a clue.

Always reminds me of some chaps in Pattaya, maybe me too. :crying

Oh yes- Stones -Honkey Tonk Women, sort of fits.

"Margaritaville" was done by Jimmy Buffett. Another song that comes to mind is The Eagles' "Sunset Grill", with such lyrics as . . .

"Let's go down to the Sunset Grill.

Watch the workin' girls go by.

Watch the basket people walk around & mumble.

Gaze out at the auburn sky."

as well as . . .

"Maybe we'll leave come springtime.

Meanwhile, have another beer".

My 2 cents on the matter. Or 2.2 Euros, I think.

Can vary from day to day.

"Lonely lonely lonely."

"The bitch is back."

"Can't get you outta my head".

"If I said you had a beautiful body would you hold it against me."

Probably the most appropriate heard in Blues Factory last night went along the lines of: "Hello hansum man, please sit down" etc etc...

chico, a dogs pov.

Leonard Cohen also has written the definitive lines from "dress rehersal rag" LC songs of love and hate.......................that's not the electric light my friend, its your vision growing dim.

A couple of favorites

As mentioned in Neil Hutchence's book " A Fool in Paradise" from Paint Your Wagon "No Name City"

"Wanna see sin of the wickedest kind, here it is

You wanna see virtue left behind here it is

Sodom was vice and vica versa

You want to see where the vice is worser

Here it is I mean here it is

You wanna live life in the rottenest way, here it is

Women and whiskey night and day, here it is

You want embrace the golden calf

Ankle and thigh and upper half, here it is"

and my favourite, Elton John's Sweet Painted Lady fom the Goodbye Yellow Brick Rd album.

" We're all hunting honey with money to burn"

" So she lays down beside me again

My sweet painted lady the one with no name

Many have used her many still do,

Theres a place in the world for a woman like you"

"Oh sweet painted lady seems it always seems the same

Getting paid for being laid, guess thats the name of the game"

Very apt

Cheers

One of the cruelist songs would be The Faces -Stay With Me

You wont take too much persuading,

I dont mean to sound degrading'

But with a face like that you got nothing to laugh about!

Yeah I'll pay your cab fare home

You can even use my best cologne

Just don't be here in the morning when I wake up.

Don't sing that one with the Uglies if you are with a lady !

It is a rocking song though, one of my fave's

Just thought of Sailor and "Glass of Champagne" "I got the money, I got the place. You got the figure, you got the face. Let's get together, the two of us over a glass of champagne." :beer

Myself being a country music singer, a friend of mine the Late Tommy Collins wrote and I would nominate, "If You Ain't Lovin, You Ain't Living."

This song was recorded by the late Faron Young in the 1950's and it went to # 1 on the Country Charts. It was then recorded by George Straight in the 1980's and went to # 1 also. Talk about staying power and that some things never change! 30-years apart at #1 and in the 80's the song was just as timely as in the 50's!

The lyrics mention If you got a Cadillac, mansion, pocket full of money, riding on a gravy train, but if you don't have a honey, then brother, "If You Ain't Lovin, You Ain't Living!"

Monkeyman, "Nok 3 times" sounds about right, and with any luck I'd still get "Nok On Wood." But, hell, "68 Guns" would be too much for any man... :beer
