Since June is low season, you'll have your pick. Go for the Sabai Lodge (has a very nice pool) or Sabai Inn (without a pool but you are invited to use the one at Sabai Lodge). These hotels are located on Soi 2. Both hotels have rooms with 2-person showers.

Eastinny Place Soi 8 (around 700 baht safety box at desk).

Bella Villa Prima, around 1,000 or just under on Soi 4.

Sandy Springs, right around 1,000 but haven't stayed there. Would recommend the first two.

Sandy Spring fits the bill OK except for the big shower/bath, at least in the regular rooms. Don't know about the suites, but they're well out of the price bracket anyway.

be seeing you

I really liked Sunshine Hotel on Soi 8 at some of my last stays.

Let's see your criteria:

>hi guys what i want to know is can you help me find a hotel that is under baht 1000

I think the list price (For new wing; I do not recommend the old wing) is a little more, but in low season I am sure you can talk them down.

>with close to baht bus

yes

>big bed

yes

>girl friendly

No problems at all.

>clean

Yes

>big shower or big bath

I always had rooms with Bath Tubs; big enough to shower two.

>english cable

If I remember right, they hab BBC World, NBC, CNN, some Movie Channel, Bloomberg and a few others.

>AC

Good

safety box

That was a little drawback; only at reception, and only open from 7am to 9pm or so.

>pool

Yes, ok.

f>ridge

Really competetitive priced Minibar, but no problem if you want the Drinks removed to bring your own.

>lift

Yes.

>quiet, and anything else you can think of

Well, it is Soi 8, so you can definitely hear the Bars until 2am, but with Window closed I had no problem.

Hope this helps

Sabai inn on soi 2, I stayed there 2 years ago and I had a very big bed, it is a very good value, you can use the pool across the street at sabai lodge and they do ID checks, they have a safety box behind the front desk. Queen victoria on soi 6 is another great place but they do not do ID checks, but they have an inroom safe and it is right in the middle of the action, PM me if you plan to stay there, i know that hotel like the back of my hand. For 1350 baht you can get the FLB special at the residence garden which is a great value and it is the only place I stay now, for 1350 you get alot.

cheers

Pig and Whistle on Soi 7 has excellent rooms for 650 per night that meets your requirments. Discounts are available. www.pattaya-pub-hotel.com

Another good buy www.skytoppattaya.com 450 and up. I've stayed there and would stay again. No lift.

sinbinjack,

It would be a shorter list of those hotels that don't fit your requirements. You are probably best to book any of the hotels the other boardies have recommended for two nights and then have a look around at the others when you get there. For a first-timer I would tend to view the hotels on Soi 7/8 as fitting the bill. The Sabais on Soi 2 are both good but, having read your previous posts, you should be aware that they are at the bottom of a slight incline that you would have to walk up to reach the soapies/Big C etc.

From reading this thread there seems to be a lot of mid-range hotels that do not provide in-room safes. Which is a shame as that takes a lot of burden off one's mind.

I took a roughee (but had slut written all over her face) from Champion a gogo the other night and she arranged my jeans over a chair and she placed my wallet in a stagetic posistion. I woke up sometime later to find her hand on it when she realised I was watching her. Fortunately nothing was stolen.

I can't be bothereed using safety deposit boxes though I ought to. I am just whipping out 10k every two days to cover my expenses.

Seems the only hotel I have stayed at in Pattaya with in-room safes has been Residence gardens which is a great property but out of the heartbeat of soi7/8.

I have stayed at hotels in Bangkok, Manila and every hotel I have stayed in Angeles has had in-room safes so Pattaya hotels do need to get thier act together in that regard.

Floyd,

IMHO, in room safe is a must have. Pig and Whistle and Sky-Top both have in room safe.

I can also highly recommend the Sabai Lodge. I have stayed there a few times and it's great. Soi 2 has Baht buses coming down from Second Road and turning left at the bottom (Beach Road). They are very frequent so no worries for anybody who has difficulty on their feet (me at 04.00).

There was building work going on in January which I doubt is finished yet so you might want to check that out.

I was given a fantastic room, heavily discounted because of the noise. It never bothered me at all. In fact, I sound like a bulldozer when I start snoring so I probably annoyed the builders more!

Near Walking Street, the Welcome Plaza. Sandy Spring is on soi 13, Flippers and Eastiny in sois 7&8. Really depends upon where you want to be. Soi 2 is a long way from Walking Street if thats where you spend your time.

hi BIGDusa

I would love to go to the places mentioned but I really love getting in the pool in the aftenoon and hate to go to far for this service,a safty box would be more important still cause im going for 5weeks and will have quite a lump of cash and TCs on hand that i dont want to lose. As i think we will be intown at the same time lets have a drink at the FLB (06/25/04to07/29/04)I would love to pick your brains about LOS as you seem to be the MAN
