  1. Hard to judge but varies from day to day! In the early days I got an impression it speeded things up. Particularly when Thailand was talking of the single gateway. You have to imagine VPN traffic gets through government blocking and controls a bit faster. That said, I sometimes watch a TV streaming site that doesn't block foreign servers, nor is blocked in Thailand, and I often switch out my VPN when I see the spinning wheel and it improves. Doing Speedtests to UK servers shows it is all over the place anyhow!
  2. I am most certainly prepared to read any advice coming my way, and be either accepting or dismissive of it. Sick buffalo stuff would probably not be.

  4. Great 'OOOOps' pic there tallguy! Contender for caption contest..... 'Somchai though he saw a 10 baht coin at the bottom'........ Plenty of examples of the recent rains in town with teeth shattering road surfaces and crappy repairs that have been washed out. Soi Chayaphun is like the lunar surface again. Prepare to have your teeth cracked as you enter Tesco from North Rd. The one above got me as I was still dazed after the pothole from Phettrakun onto North Rd.
  5. Excellent response, so Mr Loop must go visit said buffalo before making a donation towards veterinary expenses.

  7. Yes, that sums it up for me. Beach Rd certainly is littered somewhat at night and I would be happy to see them removed, but it isn't just the chicks with pricks I am thinking of.
  8. Are we allowed to 'advise' someone who thinks she really does have a sick buffalo?

  10. Did you forget to check the little box? I know I stumbled around for a few minutes there.
  11. What a pleasant morning, hot and humid yesterday.

  12. After a software update by my VPN provider, normal service has been resumed. (Interrupted also by loss of internet at the house for a spell).

  14. I am to the North of town and we did get a very windy and heavy rain spell last night around 8pm. Didn't last long.
  15. I think my VPN (IPVanish) has started working again for the BBC IPlayer, there was an update then it worked, but, the next morning my Internet went down, and has been down since (tethered from the Mrs phone right now). The little guy arrived yesterday and was disappointed the problem was as I told him and not a quick fix. He was up and down concrete poles in the rain. Gave up and went home..... Another lesson learned, beware of refurbished smart phones, Verizon have blocked all forms of tethering unless you are on their network on the one I got!
  16. I have been having a saga with my gardener and his crappy old equipment, I feared I might attack anyone running around early with a mower had I been out the night prior! As it was, he apparently called last night to cancel an early Friday arrangement, and she failed to tell me until just now! So I shall be digging out my old equipment and having a go myself. I accidentaly ran into Firth last time he was here and we hit a few GGB, memory is vague. How was the night? I am a little 'off' the Walking St of late, plus the realisation that there are actually 7 days in a week, and having some cash left at the end of the month is a positive trade-off. Ageing is winning out.......
  17. What a great review, haven't seen one like this for a while.

  19. Thanks for the update. Quite infuriating that stopping is still happening on Sukhumvit exacerbating the traffic choking. I saw one pickup had just stopped at the side, put on his hazard lights, and got out talking to workers at the pavement area in the midst of the construction. The traffic behind was nigh stationary as everyone struggled to get into one lane. The guy presumably could not give a shit he was holding up many hundreds of people. Minibuses still pick-up and drop off. Yet the police were further down stopping traffic, so the odd car could get out of Index! An area to be avoided in rush hour when in a car or truck! We are about 9 months in, anyone interested in a sweepstakes on the official tunnel opening date?
  20. Is it really a problem in the board's software. I haven't seen the problem for ages and am here a good bit.

  22. Yes I forwarded this to my old UK pal who now lives in Oz! Of course he now claims to have been supporting Oz all along.
  23. I don't know how good it is but doesn't Tequila Reef do one?
  24. Wow, I felt slightly cold last night, is rainy season soon to be over?
