  1. Reported nearly 2 years ago too, here. Personally I do not get the problem now, I access PT from a link within my empty tab in Firefox.. It can also come from an infected DNS. I was suspicious back then it was something in my router.
  2. Yes, I informed an Oz mate of mine too as last time he visited he came Air Asia via KL. It also makes a trip via Singapore another option for those wanting to get straight to Pattaya. I have always been put off by arriving at DMG and having to go through Bangkok traffic. I need to get up to date on transport availability at U-Tapao, but there is a large car-park so getting met and picked up should be straight-forward.
  3. Guess you got the same as me then, very black clouds and now it certainly isn't beach weather. Quite heavy rain. Your pic doesn't show it very clearly for me, and it isn't resizing to fit.
  4. Really, a bit cloudy here to the North. Actually that would normally suit Thais better.
  5. I like the cloudy, rainy days...... it sure gets hot quick when the sun breaks through.

  6. Personally I turn left just after BigC-X and head down soi Yume, then turn right at the wet market (after a new 7-11). You come out on Sukhumvit after the road works but you can get onto the motorway (Hwy 7). I suppose Homepro could be a short-cut too, but rather close to the motorway ramp to get across in the traffic.
  7. They still appear keen to offer CCs to foreigners, as long as you are prepared to have a fixed term (3m) deposit equivalent to your credit limit.
  8. A little out of context but I do hear the UK is having a very nice spell of weather, and nice to hear of someone quitting smoking and getting fit.
  9. A bit of rain yesterday around midday, I was on my bike at Tesco South (do not shop there on Mondays, hardly any tills in operation, tellers to whom your time is of no consequence and bloody long waits)... thought I was going to be trapped by what looked like heavy rain. As it was I was able to ride my bike back to central Pattaya without the silly waterproof thing that inflates and makes me look like a wheeled blimp! Some rain at 4am that woke me, but gone now. Radar looks clear,,, should be able to use the bike again later. I haven't taken the truck into town for ages!
  10. About 40 KM, much closer. The problem is the traffic on Sukhumvit can be a bit of a nightmare. There is a dog-leg short-cut you can take using 332/331 which brings you out at the Queen Sirikit Hospital. If you are on the North side or well East of town you can use Hwy 36/331.
  11. Yes that makes sense, not too knowledgeable wrt tunnel construction.
  12. Soon you will be able to get to more places from Pattaya's local airport.....directly. To add to their current services, we will also have Singapore, Macao and a domestic route, Udon Thani (future). Existing services are KL and some China Destinations. Hangzhou (HGH) Nanning (NNG) Nanchang (KHN) Nice weekend break or visa run. Air Asia.
  13. Perhaps the silver flexible piping is a way of reducing the weight of that roof? I rode past as usual yesterday, and it was causing quite a bit of delay, I wonder if they will be able to open up more of Sukhumvit before high season.
  14. Well I was somewhat lighter after my illness, but have (sadly) recovered it a few times over.
  15. Dances with Wolves
  16. The Bodyguard
  17. Yes it has been a nice sunny day, 34 DegC at my place......... But the app on my phone shows little thunderstorms for tomorrow, Monday and Tuesday. By little I mean 4-5mm on the phone screen. My Mrs seems to think a big storm is coming next week too. Batten down the hatches.
  18. They have fixed the bridge and roads near me, so ready for the next storm!!

  19. Funny Farm
  20. This hasn't even been released yet! (24hr) Steve Martin.
  21. Someone will be collecting money, you can be quite sure of that.
  22. Not sure whether you need to have held an account with them for any qualifying period to get the cards, let us know. Certainly, as mentioned, you will need a fixed term deposit and likely a savings or current account to pay it off from.. I will be going in there early next week, I enjoy the eye candy. Even in the sub branch on Sukhumvit, near Numchai they had a lovely lady who spoke good English wanting to help me.
  23. No problems so far, although experience tells me these things can develop later in the day. The Fisherman's will certainly not help you to lose weight, I always have Nan bread and rice and the included couple of papadums leaves me well stuffed. That lake does appear fuller now, although I doubt the fish have caught up yet. For losing weight I can certainly recommend an Indian restaurant, in India! My memories from my induced weight loss have made me a cautious person indeed, as I emerged hollow eyed after 4 very unpleasant days.
  24. The street performers are part of Walking St scene and make it the tourist attraction that it is...albeit somewhat preventing the very act in the name (Walking). The herding of tourists too is a problem. I don't see much mileage in this action.
