As stated the transfer of the Extension Stamp (A Visa cannot be transferred) is usually a free service, drop off the two passports one day, pick up the next day. I actually paid to get mine done, but that was because I did not want to queue up and stand in a line down soi 5... so an agent did it for 2000 baht. Don't forget to tell your bank and phone company of the new ID .... I also did my Med. Insurance.

Yeah, I bought it here. I looked around on their website, there was no option to claim a refund, and at that time they were queuing all the way down Beach Rd from their office.

It's official is it.... Sunday night or Monday?

My interpretation of the above sign was wrong......it should say Closed on Mondays... so it says on Google Maps.....

Hungry Hippo closed.... surprised, was only in there Sunday. Was doing okay and at that time seemed to have serving staff. Coincidentally some girl came in looking for a job and was to start a few days later. Later Edit: According to Google Maps and what is posted there, Hungry Hippo is closed Mondays, to give staff a day off!

I have not heard of this anywhere.... but it is the alcohol sale ban that is to 9pm, I have also been an Expat of some years. Later Edit: From Monday in 'approved zones' I just heard....

Never pursued it... Thai Airways were hardly being helpful! Perhaps I was simply a no show to them.

Rates looked to be as before, matching the spot rates as you might see on trading platforms. Since the fees are a percentage I did not notice at first, but felt it had gone up. Still competitive.

Absolutely.... if one books over the hill in say Karon, you will be forced to use the infamous, over priced, will not budge on price, Phuket many baht busses!

Transferwise (Wise) seem subject to a few changes..... I noticed you can only send over 50,000 baht in a transaction to 3 Thai banks, Bangkok Bank, SCB and I think Kasikorn... the rest are limited. Obviously multiple transactions would get around this. I hadn't used it for a spell so wanted to check it out and had some problem to find the Open Banking option, using my UK bank... but after 2 cancelled attempts, it was there and worked. I did not select the 'Transfer for Long Term Stay in Thailand' option and the money appeared in Thailand instantly... whether it was the lesser amount, or the selection I used, or both, not sure. It looks a bit more expensive to use too now.

Have to see how Pete feels about the latest requirements regarding recent Covid tests for all customers..... A place I usually go to closed up for the New Years Holidays, scheduled to reopen 4th, but it appears they did not bother.
