  1. It would be a dangerous ride around town at night these days.... one reason I don't.
  2. Better than the beer and Hot girl at 350 baht in a GGB.
  3. Traffic never moves well down Arunothai..... and talk about bumpy.
  4. Yeah, I usually go for omelets, they make them okay and fresh, sometimes there are cold disgusting looking pre-cooked fried eggs on offer in hotels which are awful. Scrambled all too frequently arrive cold. The fried eggs are pretty good at Nicky's I find.
  5. And a road fit for purpose.... proper teeth rattler on the bike at the moment. The Tesco Lotus shop seems to be getting pushed to one side, wonder if they get much business these days.
  6. Another suggestion has been released about making Phuket isolated and allowing no quarantine tourism..... it also requires getting everyone on the Island inoculated. To be honest rumours and big ideas keep coming fast and furious as political figures try to get a light shone on themselves. Fed up of it.
  7. Used to go sea fishing a lot here..... it is a full day out usually requiring an early early start. Had a long drive both sides of the trip as we left from either Bang Saray or Sattahip and I live on the North side of town. Had to get food ready the night before too..... When I pulled up at the house after a day out the Mrs would have a cold beer ready for me and boy oh boy, I was ready for it.
  8. Better safe than sick..... I also hate it when around the yolk part has not been cooked much, snotty eggs I call them.... really puts me off. I have gotten quite sick from eggs here, duck eggs actually.
  9. I am a fairly frequent partaker...... it could do with a slice of black pudding for me. Let me step in here..... they are both holding up. Pity there aren't more people around to frequent them.
  10. Interesting... The move will also prevent locals from gambling at the event as the venue seeks to move away from its association with gambling, Bangkok Biz News reported. Or perhaps they don't want to infect their own and will test it out on foreigners?
  11. I do not think I have been there since some of my earliest ever visits to Bangkok....and I really don't know why....
  12. Good news in a way, I tried a steak a few weeks back and was a little disappointed..... As you say testing times, as when I went they were certainly not packing them in....
  13. Why? Do you believe BA has a source in the Thai government or has influence here?
  14. Heard nothing.... it is open to International tourism now actually! Just 14 days quarantine required.
  15. Schools need to reopen to get the kids educated. The World is getting the better of covid now. Sorry I do not see how road accidents has anything to do with Covid or schools....
  16. Didn't we have this discussion already?
  17. @PoolHustler posts here and he rents out various vehicles.
  18. I don't know that because schools have been closed. And by the way it has been happening. https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/more/science-and-research/transmission_k_12_schools.html During the study period, the researchers identified nine clusters of COVID-19 cases involving a total of 13 educators and 32 students at six of the elementary schools. (A cluster was defined as at least three linked cases of COVID-19.) It is a contagious virus that spreads like colds and flu. The kids bring such back home from school... I can only think of a doctor's waiting room being as bad.
  19. Too right, hate when my bony ass starts to ache and we are only 2-3 hours into the 11.......
  20. Yes but more generally I would expect schools to be a risk even if those attending are not likely to develop serious symptoms. I am old enough to remember how even nits could spread through a school.....
  21. I was concerned that kids were a line of communication that needs to be considered, the kids themselves do not appear to get sick. School closure seems to have been an important factor in the UK lockdown approach... but hard to say which components in a package of many yielded the main benefit. It is possible too that the studies are not there to make any claims, but I do fear the approach of claiming a lack of empirical data substantiates anything. Scientists seem to generally see school closures as of little benefit restricting Covid. Data on the effects of school closures on COVI
  22. Will teachers not have been vaccinated already? I thought the issue would likely be the kids spreading it amongst themselves and taking it home.
