The advantage to me, or rather the missus, with these vans, is that you can get a phone number, and can arrange to be picked up on the way. That is applicable as I live near Sukhumvit/Hwy 36 and they don't mind picking up there. (They then head up 36 to get onto the 'motorway (#7)). Although she often ends up in the remaining jump seat. I find these vans a bit cramped as I am quite tall, so usually ride my bike into North Pattaya, and get the regular Ekamai bus from Rong Ruen, There is a bike park right next to the bus station. These busses use the new motorway extension, then 7, and change to Hwy 3 using the elevated road into Bang Na. I often get off before Ekamai to get on the Skytrain as Sukhumvit is slow. Last return trip the bus stopped and picked up what appeared to be students from a bus station after Ekamai, further down Suk, and these guys wanted dropping off in Laem Chabang, which basically meant the other 50 passengers got screwed as the bus went through heavy traffic towards the port and had to go the wrong way for miles.

Yes I have used this service.... it can seem to be whizzing along quite fast and efficiently. Although on the way out we had a longish stop to fill up with LPG or some obscure fuel.... And how quickly you make it also depends on where other people want dropping off.

I have had the same phone number in Thailand for 8 years now with 12Call.. As I live here I am not worried about expiration or losing my number from non-usage. I started out on Freedom Planet and got the roaming option as I knew I would be calling overseas. One day I discovered that calls to different networks were really expensive, and did a switch on-line. I think they took 50 baht off me to do that. Now my plan is listed in Thai..โทรสบาย[1.50B]. I keep my balance over 500 baht and currently there is over 200 days on it's validity. I subsequently bought a 2 SIM phone and now use TRUE (Inter SIM) just for cheap international calls to landlines, which I use frequently. Thanks for the feedback... it sort of is consoling to hear that someone else is having a problem and it isn't only my account that has been emptied by hackers!!! ( I am getting the homepage now, slowly, but the login page isn't coming up. I tried calling them but hung up after sitting on hold for ages)
