  1. The Big Breakfast. ?
  2. Etihad are now offering quite a few more tickets in the 93,000 baht range. As usual I moved too soon......... Etihad offer the inclusive chauffeur cars which can save me quite a few thousand baht, and it sure is convenient. Nice Merc at the Manchester end, and getting picked up/ dropped right at the terminal is nice.
  3. Getting a baht bus these days isn't like it used to be. I end up on motorcycles more often than not. Too often it is like they are ridiculing you slowing down, or stopping, only to drive off before you get there. Only ones that stop are packed........ As I rode on the back of a bike down second Rd at 2am Friday we passed a mile of empty parked up baht buses choking up the roads. Most on the move seem to be empty searching for a Russian family in need of a ride to The Ambassador I guess. PBG does pub-grub?
  4. Helen Mirren

  6. Glad to see the USA back on top!
  7. Samuel L Jackson.

  9. It's way on the other side of Klang!
  10. A series I really got into, some years after it was produced, being shown on Star World while I was in Saudi...House of Cards. To be honest a night in-front of the TV years ago in the UK was quite entertaining, some good stuff at 8pm. It has been a sad decline, all I see now is silly cooking programs, quizzes, people auctioning off their old crap (advised by an orange man with incredulous hair) and those looking to buy a house in 1995.
  11. I remember being hooked on the series.. Rich Man Poor Man (with Nick Nolte) as a kid. Some of the BBC stuff was entertaining too.... Edward the king. The Onedin Line And I never went out for a pint until Spitting Image was done.
  12. Quite a baht bus ride.
  13. Pattaya one. I think many buses come from Sattahip go on to Monument. Here is a web site. The TGF uses another one, as she can phone up and they will pick her up near the house..... we live near Suk 10km North of town.
  14. Mr Ed. I thought they could have done much more with such a clever talking horse.
  15. Just the leg department..... more general I think. I notice lately the Thai toddlers....kids aged a few years to 7 or 8, all quite rotund. Often their fat little faces being fed by hand. I am often sat in Thai occupied restaurants looking at the tables packed with food, and some little butterball being force fed while he/she plays with the smart phone.
  16. Yes, there are many. Opposite Pattaya Park Hotel on Klang and from the Petronas Gas Station on Suk.
  17. Two Moon Junction.
  18. No biggie...shall we just continue..... (A Touch of Class)
  19. That we found someone in the same film that the Nonse fellow was in!
  20. A Touch of Class
  21. Well I have obtained it within a day, each time, but I was far from unprepared. Even then there is always a return to the copy machine required for something amiss, for me. I have always had a letter from the bank, and you mention already having the embassy letter, the alternative. My point only being that this is not really 'unprepared'. I guess it eases things that you live relatively near there. I am over 15km away, and too lazy to set off early, always a crowd ahead of me. Your wandering in with a 30 day stamp and coming straight out with a retirement extension in hand slightly oversimplifies it doesn't it?
  22. King Rat
  23. The Running Man.
  24. You adjust the rules to suit yourself. Perhaps you have heard the Ass-U-ME comment before?

    Mortgages

According to some of the adverts yes, financing is available. I even heard 'financing available for foreigners' mentioned on one advert....which seemed redundant since the advert was in English.
