  1. So you happened to walk into the office just to enquire about a retirement extension with your bank book and copies and a letter from your bank, or one from the US embassy confirming income. Right.....
  2. Worked for the Qatar site. Some later return dates are available.
  3. Booking process does not work with my CC. (Cheaptickets.co.th)
  4. Hmm. It must be very date specific. I tried cheaptickets.co.th last week and the only carrier under 100k was Finnair, and a search I just did there brought up Qatar at 106,010. I was initially looking specifically for Etihad and cheaptickets.co.th was showing 110k...... I knew there was a 98k on their own site. Thanks.
  5. Tom, I have you on ignore but I knew your response to this would be worth a look. I just plugged those dates into the Qatar site and came back with nearly 115,000 baht. And why does the DOH-MAN flight take 8.35hr with 0 stops? Is that lastminute.com you are using?
  6. I need to go back early September for at least 2 weeks and have been looking at my options. I fly to Manchester and buy my ticket at the Thailand end..... My last trip was with Etihad, just a couple of months back....it was 88,000 baht. It was quite good apart from a really shit transfer in AUH on the way back where I had to get between the terminals and boy was it overcrowded. Shopping around this week and last and I can't seem to get below 100,000 baht incl for this route. Qatar are a bit more even. Anyone think it is worth waiting to see if something opens up? I was looking at the cost from the UK end (MAN-BKK-MAN), and it can be had for the equivalent of 80,000 baht, even Etihad for about 85k. Not sure how I can take advantage of that. Tempted to just pay an extra 20,000 and enjoy the Biz Class A380 experience (Emirates).....anybody want to comment on whether that is worth it?
  7. I actually have seen The Gray, it was on Sophon recently. I don't go to the cinema now, mobile phones spoil the experience... so with modern films I am often at a loss.
  8. No, the average taxi can't. But meter cabs from the airport also include some bigger vehicles, or you could pre-book a particular type. Here is an example, not a recommendation.
  9. I was watching the Oz channel on Sophon yesterdat (Australia Network), and they were harping on about how many of the coaches for Team GB were Australian and had been tempted away by large offers. My my, Ozzies whining.
  10. 24 hour..... Nonso Anozie.
  11. On an infinite time-line all things become possible. A collection of beer bars being rented is a much easier and likely thing to be replaced than a whole row of businesses owned by the big families of Pattaya. I don;'t use them these days, but I do recall many an idyllic meal over the sea in a Walking Street seafood restaurant....(can't afford it now).
  12. If you go to the Emirates website, you can plug in your dates, and generally it will come back with a list of optional flights. Variations will include departure times, layover times and it will also show aircraft type. Take your pick.
  13. And one where you end up sitting down, (long jump).
  14. The TGF informs me she has already received 17 million baht sponsorship and more will follow. So a 'share' in What's up may be obtainable. Anyone who gets a gold for LOS will get 10 million from the guy who owns the Green Tea company.
  15. So just to confirm.... are those international flights?
  16. So any idea what the later FF is up to that requires all this processor churning?
  17. I used the 'archive conversation'....which then tells me it has sent an email to my correct address.Nothing arrived.
  18. He wasn't gay in that film....he was a cad....nor was Liam Neeson.
  19. Then GB needs to focus harder on swimming. Some of those 30 could have been had.Swimming is a worthy sport.
  20. By the way...congrats to the USA for taking the lead in the medals table!
  21. Bruce Willis
  22. Christopher Plummer.
  23. Daniel Craig
  24. Michael Lonsdale.
