  2. Yes a few people have said that........One has to adapt slightly in Thailand, LIMES in the gin and tonic, and chilli sauce with steamed fish.... Now I think a G&T is better that way.

  10. No, what you are calling limes is what is used in Thailand and I have not seen lemons. A bit surprising as lemons were common in many countries I have visited and I had a few lemon trees which produced a lot of fruit. I don't really see why watered down lime juice would be much different than watered down lemon juice for your diet. How about some Robinson's .....
  11. Yes a new location and a reset of standards perhaps..... he claims prices down 10% Greg's Kitchen
  12. Surprised there was only one of them on his seat!
  13. Well hardly, but you arn't having to walk in big circles to get past them like 3-4 months back.

  15. Hard to know what to believe these days, Greg has been around a long time now and when he first opened I was a frequent visitor as his food was good and I just need a good roast dinner now and again. I thought I saw some negative views not so long ago...... 295 baht is a very good deal, and roast lamb, a particular favourite and something I pine for........ I didn't think Greg's was so close to the Dolphin Island though, nor in the Drinking St complex, has he moved from near the Bangkok Bank? Greg's Kitchen
  16. VIP desk, or the 'Thai passports' line?
  17. It is good to see someone taking responsibility in Thailand, often the pointing is always elsewhere. You might have been less sympathetic had a taxi been harder to find and you had missed your flight. Good advice, have a reserve plan.
  18. Perhaps being adjusted for the padding a certain BM was giving you......but you have nice healthy positive to start afresh from, I wouldn't get paranoid over it.Get yourself back over here, it is relatively quiet and much more pleasant without all those darned Ruskies about!

  21. There was the 101 businesses rumour going around years ago, all these places had illegally built out over the sea on WS, and were apparently all going to be knocked down. Some spent millions on discos they were so worried. City Hall were completely unable to organise the sequencing of the traffic lights at the Suk/Klang junction some years back, and after the chaos put them back the way they were.Money will drive the changes.......
  22. Are you saying that THEY (City Hall?) come round with a truck, take apart a beer bar off the front and pack all the bits of wood and coolers onto the back and rebuild it on soi Buakhao? I haven't seen this happen, has anybody else...does it occur at say 6am when nobody is about and they turn the key in the ignition as they see MM's back move into the distance? You know, I am not so sure they worry too much about offending the tourists by having a beer bar on the corner of 7 and 1st Rd, reducing the number of tarts and lowlifes under the coconut trees would be a more obvious target. Perhaps 'planning permission' is giving that impression, or financial factors are driving things that way. Likely someone wanting to build a hotel or Mall can offer a better quick profit to a landowner, than a monthly 20,000 baht rent. Not sure what use a car park is that you can't get to either.... I am more concerned by the arrival of agency girls, the 4000 baht barfine and steps up to GGBs.
  23. Motorcycle taxi will run you down the soi.
  24. Very professional.... I used to have a Mk1 type like yours, but BBQ went out of favour when fishing produced less yield. You got a big tall hat and apron?
