Yes my first trip to Pattaya was only a few days and I actually brought a lady from BKK...well more accurately she brought me. On my next trip I seem to remember a few places in the Soi Diamond area already. Back then I came to Pattaya to clear my head after 4-5 crazy ones in Bangkok!

When I last came in fast track came with my ticket....I was through immigation in 2 minutes, nobody ahead of us. My bags arrived at the other end of the hall so that was a walk back... and they came out about 5 minutes after and of I went. Regular immigration was teeming so I was very glad to get through quickly.

I seem to recall it was there on my first ever trip...I think that was about 1982. Not sure if it was the only GGB in town back then. Perhaps you do... Memory seems fuzzy about those distant days. Sad to see the end of an era.......

As Joe says there are vegatarian weeks in Thailand, and judging by availability and price it is now! My friend who was a vegetarian said he just used regular restaurants and ordered specific plates he knew, also using the Thai word for vegetarian. They seemed to handle it ok for him.

I enjoy draught beer when in other countries, in Thailand I only ever have it in pubs. In GO-GOs I have always regarded it as the cheap loss leader that is used to get customers in. I have tried it and generally find it unpleasant tasting and seems to bring on a headache quickly. I do not trust many venues not to recycle it, ie reintroduce slops into a fresh glass. I doubt the Joburg inspector will be round Pattaya.
