  1. At this place we believe they do, couldn't find it itemised on the bill but both times we have eaten behind the glass the bill has seemed 100 baht or so more.
  2. I know what a burger is, pre-chewed meat, I lived in the USA more than 4 years.Glad the Merlin hotel serves up such a good one. Four years you should be over comparing prices with 'home'.... home is here now.
  3. Denzel Washington.
  4. My meal cost me about £20 last night. A fresh small grouper steamed, Tom Yam Kung, fried morning glory, a large Leo, a water and ice. A bit pricey as I ate in the AC section... yes in Thailand.
  5. Mind you, if you have started at the Dolphin roundabout perhaps you already passed the place getting there. Let's start from where everyone starts from, the bus-station.
  6. Unless they were heading to Bang Saray beach.... Sorry, no I thought your directions were fine and was confused by the 4niceight post.
  7. Quite commonplace for shops (not only restaurants) to claim the pavement out front. For mechanics it is their workplace.
  8. Nice to learn something... never knew there was one on Pattaya KlangThe one on North rd surely is the oldest as it has been there for years. Also a small one opposite the Tesco Convenience shop, behind Numchai, Sukhumvit opposite the Church.
  9. I watched that news report on pattaya One News on Sophon last week and I am sorry to say my first thought was Som nam na for the truck driver......
  10. How long have you been living in Pattaya now? When I was living in Bangladesh my lunch cost me next to nothing, so what? Onion rings and coke, wish I could aspire to such culinary heights.
  11. Meryl Streep
  12. I don't know about that, bloody farmers spread eco-friendly chicken shit on the field behind my house and we were eating flies with dinner for 3 weeks. My arms nearly fell off......
  13. Some airlines issue them free in Business Class, but likely they are not the best ones. I notice that they cancel out somewhat the background drone of the engines, but other noises seem to get through. Like the yapping women behind or the baby at the front.
  14. Thanks for reminding me of this place. I went there a few times when Adam was a lad, and I was staying at the RG. I remember the long walk, high quality of food and great ambience. At that time it was up market and came over as expensive, relative to alternatives. It appears others have caught up, and over-taken price wise. Another thing I recall was covering exposed skin with a bit of mosquito repellant was necessary.
  15. Vanessa Redgrave
  16. I sort of knew that film would come up, what a strange but interesting film that was..... Also starring..... Tim Roth
  17. When did this happen? I ask because some guys from the PMH came and did a presentation at the Pattaya Expats Club and I got the impression they were changing (for the better)the place to compete with the other main hospitals (PIH, BPH). Prior I had always regarded it as a treatment centre for Thai guys who had been shot, more often than not leaving there feet first.
  18. They have made a decision to discriminate and not let certain groups in.Saying they 'lose money' on that decision implies they are not in it for the money. How would you feel about them blocking a group of Cobra MC guys... if I were inside, I might be glad.
  19. The bread thing is a good point. Most places serve up a solitary slice of toast with jam and butter 10 minutes prior to the main event. What heathen takes the edge off his appetite with bread and jam before breakfast?Three slices served the same time is about right. One to mop up the egg yolk. The other two make an egg/bacon and sausage sandwich (with HP) and put the jam back in the jar.
  20. Pack mentality, gang behaviour etc etc.
  21. Brilliant.... therein lies another interesting idea! How about a thread 'A Day in The Life of a Poster, by another'........ I'll do Villayouth. Got drunk, back in purgatory again.
  22. Actually I think we do pretty swell in that respect in LOS, although I am a wary eater.Last couple of doses of food poisoning I have had were both from Indian restaurants, one in the UK. Don't do Indian food for breakfast though!
  23. Helen Mirren
  24. A deliberate sidetrack? I have taken my GF to soi 6, we went into the Queen Vic. Which would be more suitable to a Western one probably. Unsure why this is relevant to the situation of the OP.
  25. Willem Defoe.
