  1. Sure it is demeaning, for the dope throwing them who needs to do this to get the girls attention.
  2. Sorry to hear of this, I thought these scams were on the decline. I separate the 500s from the 1000s in my wallet, ready for those darker places. I believe you were scammed, some of these stupid gals think we are even more stupid.
  3. As Joe says there are vegatarian weeks in Thailand, and judging by availability and price it is now! My friend who was a vegetarian said he just used regular restaurants and ordered specific plates he knew, also using the Thai word for vegetarian. They seemed to handle it ok for him.
  4. I enjoy draught beer when in other countries, in Thailand I only ever have it in pubs. In GO-GOs I have always regarded it as the cheap loss leader that is used to get customers in. I have tried it and generally find it unpleasant tasting and seems to bring on a headache quickly. I do not trust many venues not to recycle it, ie reintroduce slops into a fresh glass. I doubt the Joburg inspector will be round Pattaya.
  5. Yes I agree, that makes more sense, she dumped the kid in a waste bin in Bangkok Airport. I am still sleeping odd hours after my recent arrival in Bangkok. I spent the whole flight frightened to open the toilet waste bin.
  6. In Caddyshack it would be HP.....In the UK you are asked 'red or brown' meaning ketchup or HP.
  7. Well he was in #2 for sure.... So was Bubba Smith.
  8. This did...
  9. 24 hr rule....Bobcat Goldthwaite.
  10. Why English Joe other than anglophobic? The USA had a few high profile cases of late on this type of occurrence. Surprised the officiaals allowed such a heavily pregnant woman to board at LHR, generally they just arrive that way!
  11. Robin Williams.
  12. Jeff Bridges.
  13. Pedantic, I said slaves!
  14. It is not the acceleration that will kill you, it is the deceleration.
  15. Well phones are not normally rated at 220/240v, the chargers are. Rather a poor quality charger that doesn't handle the higher voltage and passes that over to the phone to fry it!
  16. Must be the little flag that costs a lot. I have just arrived in the UK and the savouries are still good (pies, sausage rolls, pasties and the like), a decent burger is probably unavailable, thank god! But you haven't lived until you have had a steak and kidney pudding.
  17. And things can sometimes get a bit confused and a traffic jam will occur with other aircraft service vehicles. The wait isn't extreme, but when waiting to get to or from the lounge after a 7 hour flight, ten minutes stationary really irritates. I wonder if this airport will suffice as the airline expands. I just did Etihad Biz Class and the on-board service from Bangkok was utter rubbish... improved on my next leg but since I passed most of that asleep I don't suppose they needed to do much.
  18. Bar woman desn't have the same ring to it does it now?Similarly GGG etc etc
  19. You find plenty of dark ones in Brazil..... and light ones too, quite a mix. African slaves went there.
  20. Smothering it with bacon, jack cheese and mushrooms (and probably ketchup), I wonder why you would need to worry about taking In fact that was a comment a friend made, a USA guy was doing the honours making the food, when I was in Saudi Arabia...'so much crap on it (pickles, ketchup, onions, cheese, relish etc etc) can't taste the meat'.... You would probably not notice if they left the meat out.... like they do at Subway here! I have actually eaten at these Brazilian type places, in Brazil, and similar in Argentina. Plenty of meat there..... came out like a lead filled beach ball!

You would probably not notice if they left the meat out altogether.... like they do at Subway here!
  22. I wouldn't be so sure..... it has been a slightly odd year so far. Not much of a hot season and, in the Pattaya area, not much rain in August and little so far this month.
  23. Kevin Kline
  24. I did like Tex-Mex while down in Texas, and the BBQ ribs etc. I think it was the Taco Bell quesadillos I was very keen on. But burgers never did much for me, a piece of prime rib was much better.I much prefer a Thai omelette with the minced pork in it than the ones Dennys served up. My problem with food when in the USA was there was always too much of it! And I am weak. But seriously, 900 baht for burger and coke and onion rings. Surely one of the English pubs can serve that up for much less.
  25. I certainly have come across some European's version of medium rare being closer to raw than I liked, being more familiar with UK/USA levels of cooking. No explanation as to why two would be different is there? Only good steak gets away with being cooked rare, that and the fear of blue have driven me to order medium, solely to avoid disappointment.
